    Default frustrated

I am still stuck here. I have been bouncing between 199 and 201 for several weeks now. I know that I am indulging in a few more snacks than I used to. And am very unhappy that I had to stop with my shakes because they started to make my tummy sick. I need to find a new shake that doesn't make me ill. I am just venting. Even though I have lost 75 pounds and am proud of myself, I feel that I do not want to backslide and would love to get to 160.

    help!!!

    Hi Michele43!

I can relate to your frustrations. Without going into my whole backstory (you can find all of that within the contents of my blogs) I would like to recognize one thing you made mention of: "I know that I am indulging in a few more snacks than I used to."

When my wife and I moved to the midwest, by default we fell back into our old habits and quickly found ourselves doing much the same as you are currently going through. If I can offer one piece of advice, it would simply be to stop. Stop snacking, grazing, or whatever it is that is causing your dilemma. I know, I know...easier said than done, right? I agree. But it is necessary to the overall success you are seeking. The very things you speak of have prevented me from advancing any further in my weight loss journey. But I had to take control..."GO COMMANDO"...if you will, and get back to the basics. I am now at 1000 calories per day, 80 grams of protein, and as few carbs as possible.

Trust me, it is not easy, but I have faith in you that you can do this. It just takes time, persistence, and a willingness to become the you that you are meant to be!

    Have a great weekend!

Michele, I'm not sure if this will be helpful, but here it is:

The shake I have loved and used since I was pre-op (nearly four years ago) is the GNC Lean Shake. It has 170 calories and 25 grams of protein. My favorite flavor, by far, is Swiss Chocolate. I still have one most mornings for breakfast. That may seem odd to you that someone four years post-op is still drinking a protein shake, but it works for me.

And I know you know this, but many people find they can stop a stall and get the scale dropping again by stopping all snacking. I'd bet (?) your "snacks" are mostly slider foods -- highly processed, sugary and/or higher sodium foods that don't add anything to your nutrition or benefit your body in any way. Also, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Chances are also good that in recent months your hydration (on which you focused early on) has slacked off. I bet if you made these changes for a week you'd see some positive results. And if that works, then you'll be motivated to continue in this direction until you reach your goal.

    Very best!

Ann is spot on. She is wise beyond her years! Drink more. EAT more protien. I live on chicken and tuna! Trust me the chicken will fill you up! Follow the 'no drinking 30 minutes before eating and after eating' rule. Sometimes I can't drink any for at least an hour after eating my chicken!

I like the EAS Advant Edge Low Carb shakes. But truthfully, the thing that fills me up the most is solid proteins. That will also help to reduce the snacking. I usually needed to eat more real foods when I started to stall or slow down. Are you exercising? That also helps.
