    Default Unstable Emotions

I have read many post on various sites where sleevers emotions were out of alignment! Let's just say I didn't think this would be my story. Today, marks seven weeks post op. Unfortunately, this morning I'm emotional for no apparent reason. On my commute into the office I just felt like crying. I'm trying to get myself together the best way I know how. Has this happen to anyone? If so, what did you do to cope with the unstableness of emotions?

HI Sassy, I haven't felt emotional but I am only 2 weeks post op, however I have felt like Why did I do this? I still have another 2 weeks on liquids and today I felt like WHY? I can't do this, but I have to. Best of luck and hopefully it will pass soon.

Congratulations on making a life changing decision! You made this decision because you are in search for the best Ellie you can be! You can do it, you've already done it. Keep moving forward and this hurdle you will soon cross. When you began to see the pounds melt away, you're going to be elated. But the first two weeks are the toughest, I promise you it gets better. During that time Wonton Soap and Sugar Free Popsicles were the best thing ever. Hang in there and look for encouragement and support on the sites, they are the best!! Today, marks my 7 weeks post op and I'm down 34 pounds (when I weighed on Monday). The time goes by rather quickly and you will begin to say, this is WHY I did this!!

Thank you. It has passed, it's the hormonal imbalanced. I prayed and listen to worship music. I'm in control of my emotions not my emotions controlling me. LOL

The whole process of deciding that WLS is the best option for you, doing all the doctors visits, doing the pre op diet, having the operation, and starting your new life is a pretty big deal. There are bound to be all sorts of emotions going on in your head.
I haven't experienced unstable emotions as a part of this process, but I sure did when I was going through menopause. Boy, I would cry at the smallest thing.
Just as with menopause our bodies are going through huge changes so our hormones are bound to be a bit out of whack.
I'm sure someone way more experienced will be along shortly to give some great advice.

Hang in there. I'm sure it will settle down and get better.

Welcome to your hormones being out of whack. Totally not uncommon with the rapid weight loss and missing nutrients. I was one of the blessed ones who always felt euphoric post op. (Other than the first week, when I hit my first stall {crap am I going to fail at this?}, and the occasional regret of eating too fast or too much.) Make sure you are taking your vitamins as this can help a lot. B Complex, 5-HTP, Theanine, D, and Fish Oil are all considered great vitamins/supplements to help with the blues.

No, but at support group the psychiatrist says it happens to lots of people, like they will start crying for no reason. You're not alone!

I was always over-the-moon happy the whole journey. Still am. What could be more fun than watching weight just melt away. Nothing.
