I have someone very close to me who has been fighting stage four colorectal cancer for the last four years. I can assure you that the inconvenience involved when dealing with a colonoscopy every five years way outweighs the inconvenience of colorectal cancer.

Get the colonoscopy when ever you are supposed to.

So true, it's a pain to go through, but once every 5 years is worth it to save my life!

In the Netherlands part of the population is screened.
Every two years we have to give a stool sample, the tests are done free of charge.
Same as the mammography, every two years we get a notification in the mailbox.
I think that is very good!

We had just purchased our "smart scale" when my hubby and I both had our routine colonoscopy's the same week. It was exiting to see the graph on the scale take a big dive but then it went back up in a few days. Thankfully we are now below our colonoscopy prep weight.
