    Default 4 years out

Hey there, I just wanted to stop in and give an update! I was sleeved 4 years ago and lost most of my weight the first year. I lost a total of 70 ibs and went from 205 to ~130 ibs. I had a baby last year and i did amazing. Lost all my baby weight after 8 months. I have to constantly work on maintaining what i eat and watching the scale but that should have been a lifestyle before the sleeve anyway. I still eat low carb mostly. One big lesson, is i do need SOME carbs or i pass out. I do NOT drink carbonated drinks. I don't drink water when i eat still and it doesn't bother me a bit. I do still measure my water. I do splurge occasionally and i don't feel like i do without anything. My splurges are NOTHING like they used to be and that choice is easy for some reason. I have gotten the slimes a few times when i ate tortillas or when i ate food and drank water at the same time. Lessons learned. I have not been exercising like i should but i simply can't find time between baby and working and i do intend to start.
For those looking to be sleeved, i don't regret it at all! In my experience, i changed as a person afterwards. I became the person i was supposed to be without the insecurities of my weight. That entails ALOT btw. My marriage dissolved, i eventually found someone who treated me right, i have had several promotions at work, i lost friends, i lost some family, i had a beautiful baby, and i feel more spiritually happy than ever. Be aware, those relationships you have may change. Friends, spouses, family, coworkers, bosses...they will see you differently and you will respond differently to their reactions if you don't understand them. Good luck, Tracie

    Thank you Tracie!
    You are doing great.
Your story is very encouraging for me, I'm about to start maintenance and I don't intend to regain, ever.
So, thanks again for the inspiring work you did!
English is not my first language anymore, so I may and do make mistakes in my spelling, or say things oddly. Please ask me, if you want any clarifications.

    Congratulations.

I'll say only this: OF COURSE you need carbs. You need veggies and fruits. You need whole grains. You need legumes. Those are wonderful foods full of nutrition our bodies flourish on. (You know all the kinds of carbs you don't need many or at all, if they're trigger foods for you.)

Congrats on all your successes since WLS. It's a miracle opportunity for us all. I'm glad you've taken such great advantage of your WLS opportunity.

Oh how good to hear! I'm only 3 months out, concerned with maintaining when I reach goal (16 pounds to go)....and the "slimes", which I think of as "toad froth" are certainly a way to learn! I eat to fast unless I am paying attention.

You've inspired me on a snowy cold day in the Carolinas. Thanks!

Happy surgiversary Tracie! Congrats on your new baby and your new life. One of the most important aspects of the sleeve is finding yourself. You sound super happy. Once again, congrats!
