First off - congrats on your surgery!
Second... the hunger hormone known as Ghrelin is not gone with this surgery. While it may be reduced due to the new floor plan of your stomach, it is not gone, sadly.
However, at your stage I would say it is likely not hunger but stomach acid, which absolutely mimics the ache and sting of an empty stomach. The good news is this phenomenon is very common and manageable.
I took Prilosec (and still do intermittently) to get rid of the acid "hunger" feeling. Ask your surgeon what they would recommend and what they believe is safe for you to take at this point. I do not recommend self medicating without the surgeon's approval.
TLDR; It's probably acid. It's fixable. It's going to be okay. ^_^
