    Default Stalled....

So I am now 2 weeks post op and I have been stuck between 189-190lbs this week...I've added more protein to my broth and have added protein shakes as well.

Also the heartburn has been insane this week!!!!! Like wow, before I was sleeved I was on medication for my heartburn/stomach acid, I think I might have to go back on it.

And I have a white/yellowish film on my tongue, it's kinda gross, has anyone had this before? I'm going to my doctor later this afternoon to get my stiches out so I'll ask her later.

The white film sounds to be like thrush - a type of yeast infection in the mouth. It can be common when taking antibiotics - and sometimes when you consume too much sugar - probably not your case, even just stress. For a short term remedy, you can mix a paste of baking soda and water and swab your mouth - then rinse. You can look up for home remedies for thrush online. I would be interested to see if that is indeed the case, what the doctor recommends. I am sure that your "stall" is a temporary thing - try not to get too concerned.

Yeah -- go back to the antacids. Most surgeons give WLS patients an antacid Rx for use after WLS. It's standard op -- to reduce stomach acid while your tortured new sleeve is trying to knit itself together and to reduce GERD / reflux, since we have smaller tummies for the acid to stay in.

    Best wishes!

The stall is typical and will pass. As for your tongue, I got thrush while I was on the all liquid portion of my pre op. I had to have my surgeon prescribe me a swish. It was nasty. Tasted like super sweet old orange juice. I had to take it 3X a day for a week but it worked and cleared it all up.
