Water, lots of water. And my doctor recommended Mirolax. He also said "less in, less out!" It's common, don't worry.

My nutritionist recommended "Smooth Move" tea. I'm still pre-op but I've stocked up because what you're experiencing is my fear. Good luck!

My doc had me do mira-lax and then take colace daily but make sure you get your 64 oz of water or it wont help. If it gets real bad like mine did do a glycerin suppository (be prepared for a dumping like syndrome worth it when over i had to do that 12 days post op.

I suffered from constipation for almost 10 months post op. I am finally regular now. I used to have to take 1/3 of an enema every 3-4 days to help and also took stool softeners daily. I could not tolerate any of the things you drink but I am funny like that.

This is a common issue for post-op patients the first few months after surgery. Unfortunately, you're not able at this point to eat high-fiber veggies -- the world's best laxative. I used stool softeners, Miralax and (once, I think) a laxative. It'll, ahem, work itself out eventually.

Oh ... and like others said above ... water, water, water.

Miralax, Colace, and lots of fluids (water). It was the worst part of my surgery..... Didn't hit me until week 3 and lasted for 3 weeks, was terrible and I was uncomfortable pretty much every day of that 3 weeks.

I ended my agony with the big E.... That's right, wet and wild...... Not a great experience (typical guy), but the relief was instantaneous.

    Hope this helps.

Prune juice! I just went to my dietitian and asked her exactly about this... she said stool softeners and if all else fails use warm prune juice. I hope its all better soon x
