Just two more weeks until my surgery and I am starting to feel major anxiety

It has been awhile since I have posted here. My surgery is on June 14th! Ahhhh!! I can't believe how quickly it has gotten here and yet at the same time the days at work keep dragging on and on. I am going to TJ on the 13th and my best friend will be accompanying me. I have done my research and have not been anxious about it in awhile but it has finally hit me. I started my 2 week pre op all liquid diet today. It sucks but I am sticking with it. I am so scared of the unknown and especially about some of the things that I have been reading. I know that I am making the right decision but at the same time, in a way I don't know what I am getting myself into because I haven't experienced it yet! Please share with me your experiences and any words of reality and/or encouragement regarding this life changing procedure. Thanks!

All I can offer is that most if not all have some form of anxiety before surgery.

I am just over a year post op and I am ecstatic with my decision! I was so ever fortunate that I had zero complications, a few minor discomfort that were expected, but overall my experience has been exceptionally wonderful. I feel amazing! I am told often I look younger and that I glow. I embrace it.

The first week is the hardest but not unbearable. And every day it gets a little easier and easier. Best decision I ever made.

Day after tomorrow is my one year surgiversary and I am down 90 lbs! I really had no complications and I am so thrilled with the results, I feel amazing! My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! Good luck and try not to stress too much, you are doing something positive for your health and your life!

You said it yourself, you have done the research and feel that this is the right decision for you. Take a big, deep breath and trust in knowing that this is something you are doing for YOU to improve your quality of life. It's a big change and a positive change. It's scary and it is very exciting!!!! Please, please, please keep us posted on the site as you continue with your weight loss journey. I know you will ROCK IT!!!!!
