I had a small argument with my mom and brother. They think it's fine eating bananas when the stomach is empty. But I think it's not!

I don't fully understand the question. are you eating a banana or a bunch of them?
Are you avoiding carbs or not? Part of me thinks eating a banana is fine because you shouldn't be on a diet, you should be living a lifestyle. But I'm a month out, I wouldn't eat a banana yet. I'm sure at some point I will add some fruit, but right now it's all about protein.
bananas are very sugar/carb heavy and shouldn't be eaten too much by people trying to lose weight. also, remember that a serving of banana is HALF a banana, not a whole one.

1 small banana a few times a week could provide you with essential micronutrients for your body function needs.
I only use them sparingly once or twice a week, mostly in a smoothy.

"Today is another day to get it right!"
The problem is that bananas don't satiate your hunger very long. They're sugar and carbs and metabolize very fast (and then the energy is gone, leaving you feeling limp again). Plus, they are soft and mushy and slide easily through the bottom of your sleeve into your intestine. That leaves your sleeve empty again -- with nothing soaking up your stomach acid, and then you feel hungry again.
If you're really *hungry* -- the thing to eat is dense protein. That will keep you feeling full and burning slowly for a long time.
Didn't you receive any eating instructions from your surgeon? This ^^^^ is pretty basic information for new VSG patients.

Most of them avoid and suggest everyone to eat banana in empty stomach because it is harmful for digestion.
