    Default Revision.....not loosing weight....help

I had VGSleeve on June 5th 2014. I lost 110 pounds. Started at 325 and ended at 220. Today I am 249, I crave sugar and the only thing that doesn't make me sick, is chocolate or something high sugar. I cannot eat fried foods (No loose there) but now any type of food makes a sick....I throw up after everything I eat....BUT chocolate or sugar. I went to a new Doc yesterday who says that with all the GURD and acid re-flux I have she would have recommended a Bypass for me. Soooooooo, I have to do another barium swallow, ultrasound and maybe an MRI. It looks like I will be having surgery no matter what. Either I have a hernia in my stomach, or the stricture they found in me is too tight and has to be fix....so she if she is going in, she might as well convert me. Either way she wants me to loose 25 pounds and has put me on the week 6-9 soft food diet.
ANYONE had a revision? Been converted? Will I start loosing weight again? Is this even worth it? I am one the the blessed, who is sick all the time, nauseous all the time. I throw up after everything I eat and the main reason I did this was to get pregnant, and NOPE nothing there either. Please advise. I am really defeated.

Why aren't you losing weight if you are throwing up all the food except chocolate and sugar? Are you eating enough of that to gain? Can't you try to eat what your were eating in the early stages after surgery. Broth and other soft foods shouldn't give you gerd like a lot of other foods.

From the time I got out of surgery, My tummy is full of nothing but acid.....I throw up tons of "Tummy juices" its crazy. In order to not have pain I eat frequent, so my tummys not empty....hence the weight gain I guess. I am not getting my protein either.

FTR, I was sleeved in August 2014, also lost 100 pounds, and I haven't thrown up a single time.

The one that did my surgery does not take my insurance, so I saw a new surgon last week. She says I never should have had Sleeve because of the Gurd.

Do you remember me? I posted at 5 months out and everyone said I had a stricture.....YOU WERE RIGHT, I do. They found it November when I pushed to get it looked at. So to fix that, she thinks I should revise to Bypass.

I just dont know, I chose the sleeve for a reason. I feel conflicted.

I agree - I only got sick a few times - once when I ate some eggs and another time when I was around 9 months out and stopped for a ham and cheese sandwich at Hardees. 3 bites and I was sick as a dog. Something about the type of bread they use I guess... dunno since I haven't tried one since.

If your reflux is this bad, converting to R&Y bypass soulds like good advice. Search topic conversion to read about others that went down this path. Stay positive, and yes you will loose some more weight but not as quick and as much as the first time. Keep up with the vites because you will have malobsorption. There are both pros and cons to that part. Keep us posted.

I am considering the duodenal switch. It seems like a RNY "Upgrade"
    Any thoughts?

My upper GI in radiology is next week, if that shows problems I can go right to surgery. If it doesn't...then I will have to start the process all over again...from START...seeing a nutritionist....I really dont want that.
