Friends,
First of all, many thanks for your prayers and comments. I had a rough go of it the first few days post-op but it seems the dust has finally settled. The antibiotics seemed to have done the trick, as I've not had any kind of fever for the last few days. Because I lost a good bit of blood during and after surgery, I was very sluggish and fatigued during the first few days at home. I was even very short of breath at times from doing even the most basic tasks like taking a shower. That seems to have worked itself out as well as my body has replenished its hemoglobin stores. My GP ran some bloodwork (CBC, Ferritin, etc..) that came back today and he said everything looks exactly as it should for someone who just had surgery.
So for the past couple of days I've finally been able to get on with enjoying my sleeve. Weight loss...WOW. I lost nearly 10kg (22 lbs) during these 9 days post-op. I need to figure out how to add one of those little weight loss counters to the bottom of my posts like all of you have. I've been on liquids up until now, and I met with my NUT today who has me now on purees. That should be fun.
All in all I've been pleased with the outcome, although I pray this fever doesn't come back as my round of antibiotics ended today. I'm pretty sure they zapped whatever it was though. Looking forward to getting through purees over the next couple of weeks and on to soft foods.
Thanks again for all of your kind words and prayers. They worked like a charm.
