    Default Stall, adjustment advice

So...I am a little over 2 months post-op, down 33 lbs and I typically hit a stall about every 3 weeks (during that time of the month for this girl). I am one of the sleevers that can eat but I eat as healthy as possible. I got the Fitbit Charge today to help me keep track of my diet, exercise, sleeping pattern. So far, I can see that I am clearly not eating enough. So far I got in less than 500 calories but I thought I was eating too much, so come to find out I was wrong. My advice to others is to track your progress so you can clearly see where adjustments need to be made. I am adding in an additional protein shake and more water to also help. Regardless, the stalls haven't lasted long and I will take my 33 lb weight loss any day. Here is the menu of what I ate today....
    am...water....1 500 ml water w/crystal light packet

1 cup of coffee with sugar free creamer

    breakfast....1 premier protein drink
    snack.....1 500 ml water w/crystal light packet
    water....1 500 ml water w/crystal light packet

lunch....1 cup of chicken breast with red, green, yellow peppers & onion (delicious)
snack....pop chips (bbq and no more of these delicious things for me...=0)
    water....1 500 ml water w/crystal light packet

dinner....hasn't happened yet, so I am not sure =0)
    water...1 500 ml water w/crystal light packet

This is just a little peek at today's menu & a little sage advice to those who ask about the stall. I would advise anyone to get the fitbit or any sort of tracking device to help. Even if you go overboard, wouldn't you rather know to catch the mistake? We all make mistakes, we all have failed at something and none of us are perfect but each of us are worth the effort of good health....=0) I may be new to the sleeve but I research a lot and I try to learn from each of you here.

What app is everyone using to track calories? I would love to have that.

I use the fitbit app on my Samsung galaxy 5. It is a free app and has steps, exercise, water, food logs that syncs to my laptop & phone. I absolutely love it! Can't wait to see what it says about my sleep cause who would know unless you are being recorded & who wants that? LOL

I track my food on www.myfitnesspal.com and track my steps on the Fitbit. They communicate with each other.

    Love 'em both.

I vote for Myfitnesspal as well.

I am the cook in the family; the MFP has a section where you can import recipes from elsewhere on the internet. In addition, you can input or even create your own to see what impact an ingredient change can have on a meal.

    I use this everyday!

I dont know if this link will work for you, if it does you will get an idea about the recipe tool:

As soon as I increased my water & caloric intake, guess what took place? Yep, weight loss....I increased my water by 1/2 a liter or 500 ml's & 200 calories. This little just dropped 2 more lbs.

I haven't been sleeved yet so maybe am not the best authority on this stuff, but I swear by tracking food, intake, output, sleep, and anything else.

I'm a bit of a data and technology nerd and have tried two of the Fitbits in the past, the Flex and the One. Both were good. Both had selling pros and cons. What I settled on, however, is the Microsoft Band: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/...ctID.308308800.

This device does it ALL. Not only does it sync with MyFitnessPal. It tracks everything, and syncs with your mobile device. You can elect which notifications to receive: Text messages, Facebook pings, Alarms, etc. It is even equipped with Cortana, Microsoft's version of Siri (but works better), allowing users to send messages hands-free. The mobile app is friendly, easy to use. It also tracks other fitness activities other than walking/running. It tracks cycling (my personal favorite), weight lifting...and "personal trainer" programs can be downloaded at no additional charge. It basically is a far less expensive version of the Apple Watch, one "normal" people can afford, coming in at $200. My work's employee health and fitness program reimbursed me for mine, so I in essence got it for no cost.

This device is in its first release. I know some folks are holding out until it's had a year or two under it. My husband and I both have one and swear by its usefulness. As always, do what works for you, but if you're a data or tech geek, this might be a fun option.

I use the Fitbit "Flex" model. I've had two of them (lost the first one -- then found it ).

I gave my sister a Fitbit "Charge" and she loves it. And now I'm thinking about upgrading to that.

I'd also love to hear which Fitbits others use and what they think of them.

Ann - I use the Zip - it's hooked on to my bra and nobody sees it and I can wear whatever bracelets I like without it interfering. I love it. It doesn't track sleep and you can't wear it in the pool but it's good for what I need it for. It also talks to MFP.

    Thanks, Susan.

Yeah, those plastic and mesh Fitbit bracelets don't exactly complement every cute outfit, do they?

But then there's this cute Fitbit bracelet by Tory Burch I've been considering as a Surgiversary present.

    tory-burch-fitbit-bracelet-gold-w724.jpg

And here are pix of some more Fitbit bracelets, illustrating that shopping is always a good idea.
