    Default 6 month surgerversary :)

Well, I can not believe how my life has changed in 6 months. I can't say its all been smiles and roses, but compared to where I started I'm pretty excited. I'm down 109 lbs, I have had so many NSV's that its impossible to list them all. My latest was this past weekend....We flew for the first time since my surgery and I DID NOT NEED a seat belt extender. I was so happy that I can now not have to worry about that anymore. It made the trip a lot less anxious for me. I almost enjoyed flying this time. I am so glad that I finally made the decision to have the surgery. Its not always easy, but its definitely always worth it. I'm anxious to see what happens in the next 6 months. Thanks to everyone for their love and support. We are winning this battle together
    God Bless

Well, I had surgery 12 days ago and at the moment I think it's the biggest mistake of my life. I weighed 265lbs and did a pre op diet 15days before and all I did was cut out sweet things but ate everything I normally would and lost 10lbs,then,because of being so sick for 5 days and then got a chest infection within 5days,i lost another 10lbs. But 10 days post op, have put on 5lbs and all I've had is a little soup and some protein milk. So fed up with drinking milk and slop! Hopefully I'll change my mind but at the moment I'm so depressed and wishing I could turn the clocks back.

I'm so sorry, but you'll surely improve with time. So many have. And you'll be very happy! Maybe you need to find more tasty alternatives for your foods right now.

Hummer. The first few weeks are the toughest.

I sincerely hope you can find a more joyful spirit and remember why you wanted to become more healthy as you continue your WLS journey.

If you feel like you're suffering from depression, I hope you'll see your surgeon, your primary care physician, or a mental health professional to help you with the adjustments we all have to make post-op.

I hope you get through this rough time and go on to great WLS success.

I'm sorry that your not feeling well. I can remember thinking "What in the he!! Have I done?" There were several times I just wanted to say the hell with it and eat something that tastes "real". But I just kept thinking that it would get better and it has. Do I miss the taste of food? Yes! But I try and remember how much better I feel and all of the NSV's I've experienced. It's all worth it in the bigger picture. Try and set an attainable goal and then strive to hit it. Trust me after a few successes the taste of food doesn't compare to how great it feels to accomplish your dreams. Good luck on your journey and may God Bless you.

Congrats to you on your weight loss journey! That's a lot of weight in 6 months! You must feel Fabulous! For Hummer, I am sorry you don't feel so good. I think you should talk to your doctor about the depression. I know the first week is the roughest, but if you are dealing with other problems, I cant imagine the depression helps. I hope you are able to see the great things with the sleeve!
