    Question Need Some Reassurance

    Hello Community

I am scheduled for surgery the day before my 43rd bday. I had Gastric bypass surgery 10 years ago and I at my heaviest weight since going from 242lbs to 155lbs. Now I am 190 and so scared that I will not be able to maintain so I have decided to be proactive before I beat myself from feeling like a failure. I sure could use some reassurance of my decision. BTW, my surgery is scheduled for March 19th.

Have you looked into the y en ru? (Spelling?) Your first surgery was so severe I didn't realize the sleeve was a possibility...the reassurance you search for May be with a professional...that isn't trying to be mean or pushing you away...it just seems that there maybe something underlying that you need to address that is more than a feeling of reassurance...we all have felt so many different emotions and sometimes the deep stuff is better sough out with someone in a session that digs into the who what why and when's of your journey with this addiction...I call it an addiction because to me food is exactly that, so I've reprogrammed myself so that I can cope with my addiction and take it one meal at a time...I hope you find what you're looking for and welcome!
    Good luck
keep dreaming the dream and living the life!!!

sweety you can do it. I was 222 at my highest 206.8 day of surgery. I just had my gastric sleeve on 2/16/15 and have lost 16.4 pounds in the past 10 days. My recovery wasnt typical though I didnt have the exhaustion associated with the surgery I think because I broke my addiction to carbs 20 years ago and I went high protein extremely low fat extremely low carbs but that was only to maintain what I was then started gaining and that was why I chose surgery. just know that you are worth it and you have the right to be healthy and happy and your strong and beautiful and you will do great

    Huh?

    You've already had bypass surgery?

I agree with other posters, if you had bypass surgery already what surgery are you having now? You have gained 40 lbs and are under 200, have you gone back to the basics? Surgery is not the only answer nor the fix, it is a tool, it is up to you to do the footwork. Many people with the sleeve gain just the same way that the bypass people do because of poor eating habits. I wish you luck. This by no means is meant to slam you at all. I also have never heard of a sleeve after bypass, I do not think it is possible and the bypass is much more restrictive than the sleeve.
