Back again

Spent the first five days of the new year in the hospital (2 in icu), and now I'm back in again. Combination of diverticulitis and severe dehydration from vsg have really messed me up. The antibiotics for the sepsis are extremely harsh on my stomach, so vomiting has been a nightmare. This whole thing is a nightmare! 2015 has started out horribly, and knowing that I've got to have colon resection surgery after the infection clears doesn't give me anything to look forward to. Mega Debbie Downer here, but I just feel so terrible. Can't wait to start feeling better.

I am so sorry your having such troubles. With your permission I'd like to pray for healing for you. I'm hoping that you get well quickly and can find a silver lining in your cloud.

Katrina, it's too bad they can't give you antibiotics intravenously instead of orally. Any chance of that happening?

Little Verbena just went through the surgery you're facing, although her VSG was quite some time ago. Perhaps you can message her and get some feedback and inspiration regarding your complications with diverticulitis. I hope you're on the mend soon and I'm sorry you're having such a rough time.

Cnjzmom, you certainly may pray for healing, and I greatly appreciate it.
Ann2, when they allowed me to go home this past Monday, I had to start taking them orally. That Flagyl is the most disgusting thing I've ever put in my mouth, and is 3x daily. The other 6 medications aren't so bad. The doctor did have me take it by mouth today, but I'm going to need that back in iv form if they plan to keep me much longer. None of the anti nausea meds are working. They've given Zofran, Phenergan, and Reglan though iv and orally all to no avail. Can't even keep broth down for very long. Doctor said it would most likely take a couple of weeks to feel beter. I'm ready. So so ready.
