So a little about me: My name is Ashlee and I am from Spring, Texas. I have been battling my weight problems since I was 9 years old. There was a point when I had dropped about 50lbs right before starting high school. I was always involved in extracurricular activities throughout high school. I was on the neighborhood swim team, the high school drill team, community softball team, etc. But the weight would soon start to show itself again.
I started gaining some weight during the end of my senior year. I was in a carefree, living every moment kinda mood. My social gatherings started to become more focused around food and I didn't complain. Well in college, that carefree mood went into a mind of its own. I ate and drank anything I wanted. It was in college that I became the biggest I had ever been (293lbs). I was in a rut and knew that something needed to be done if I wanted to have a full life.
So that's when I decided to visit Dr. Terry Scarborough with Texas Laparoscopic Consultants. He assured me that this was a great decision to ensure a healthier me. So we set a plan and the surgery date of Nov. 26, 2014. Of course I had to met all the insurance prerequisite and ended up losing 25lbs before surgery (with the help of Herbalife).
So today is the 6th day of my recovery currently 255lbs. Still feeling sore, but not nearly as bad as the first couple of days. I am in the "full liquid diet" stage and have been for 4 days. But I had a little bit of a meltdown today with not being able to chew anything. My post op instructions have me going on full liquids for another week. I'm sure I'll be fine, but as far as liquids go, do you think adding noodles to the soups is a bad idea? I've read where there were concerns about eating too soon and the strength of the staple line and the adhesions that seal the staple line breaking. What are my fellow Sleevers opinions on this?
