I've crossed over to the sleeved side!

My surgery went well yesterday. Doc said everything went great and there were no complications.
I passed my leak test (which btw the liquid they give you to drink before the xray is horrible)
I am not gonna lie, the last 24 hours have been very rough. At one point in recovery I asked my
Husband if he thinks I made the wrong decision. He said, no you made the right decision that this part will be over soon. It really helps having spousal support.
The gas pains are kicking my ass. I tossed and turned last night couldn’t get comfortable so tonight
I think I am sleeping in the recliner.

I have been walking some just in my house and I am sipping on water and some protein. I think I am turning the corner. I am sore and still taking things easy but I am doing it and that is what matters. Thanks to everyone on here giving encouragements and prayers.
I am happy to be on the losing team.
P.s on a good note, I lost 15 pounds pre op.

So glad to hear that your doing well. Did you have any problems with being sick to your stomach? I don't know why but I'm so nervous about that.

danel tell the anethesologist that you get sick easily and they have a pill you can take prior to surgery that is a wonder pill they say! at least that was how it was with my surgery!

DaneLvrKB- I had a little nausea in recovery but the nurse said was probably because of the gas pain. They hooked me up pretty well with meds for nausea.
I have a 3 day patch behind my ear
Plus I took a pill before surgery then the
Anesthesia had anti-nausea meds in it.
Sometimes my stomach rumbles and it makes me feel a little off but nothing major.

You just passed the toughest part. At least that's what my surgeon told me. Rest up but move as much as you can while you're awake and sip sip sip! It gets better I promise. Welcome to the sleeved side!

Definitely take small walks around the house. You will find the gas pain will move. I remember often asking people if I had done the wrong thing. Now that I have gone through it, there's no turning back and its totally worth it.
