Ok... so all I need to do is have my psych eval. and then I can schedule my procedure!!

I am soo excited.

My psych eval is next week. I will be hearing from the scheduling nurse in the next 5-7 days.

Soo.. information about people that had/have lap band and convert over to sleeve. My Dr. said that upper area of the stomach where it will be removed is the weakest part when we have already had a band. He said that in that place where the band was that is where we are more likely to have a leak. There is a 5% chance for a leak with Band to Sleevers. ugh The time frame that the leak normally happens is about 1 to 2 week period, when we start to drink/eat more and fill up the sleeve. People that don't have a band and get the sleeve have a 1 % chance of a leak.

That was a drag to find out.

Pangie, congratulations on making this progress.

I'm sorry to hear your leak odds are higher post-lapband. However, I suppose that if you and your surgeon are on the sharp lookout for a leak that you'll be very likely to spot it early, early on. It sounds to me (from reading about those who've suffered from leaks) that the worst leaks are those that go unnoticed for a while.
