Hello everyone! New to the message boards and T minus 9 days until my VSG surgery and I am sooooo excited! I have been on youtube non stop watching other peoples journey's and decided to join a message board. I do actually plan on starting a channel myself and giving bi weekly updates in a video. This will be more for myself but hoping it can help others in their journey as well.

I am clearly looking for support from strangers who have been or will be going through the same thing as my friends are not as supportive as I thought they would be. Interesting enough these are friends of mine who have all had elective surgery of some sort such as breast implants, tummy tucks, etc and I tell them I am getting VSG and they tell me I am taking the easy road out or why would I put myself under the knife when I can just diet and exercise, ugh!!! HYPOCRITES! But I still love them, I have thought about it and I am sure it comes down to worry or jealousy as I have always been a runner and I love to cook and eat healthy and they all know this about me. Luckily I have a very supportive mom and you guys (yup already stuck you all in the supportive category, lol).

Welcome and congratulations on your decision. This has been a crazy journey for most of us and as you will see the vast majority of people are just disappointed that we didn't do it sooner. It really has changed my life and I'm very grateful for a second chance at life.
