You should come to a support group meeting at Ellis (the old St. Clair's) I believe there is one this Thursday at 6:00pm. I usually go, it would be a good way to meet. We also have a support group on Facebook. If you look me up on Facebook, message me and I'll invite you to the group. It's a closed group so nobody can see that you're on there. Look up Angela Catherine LaBombard. We definitely can get together to work out.

Hi, I am doing better...had some issues getting in my fluids and it was upsetting but I am going with the flow and can say I am doing better everyday. I chose Dr.Stilled because I had a lot of adhesions and two hernias to fix. I went to a support meeting at Albany med on Thursday and it really helped my frame of mind. All kinds of wls folks. How are you doing with the sleeve? I am in Chatham.'where do you live?
  5. Hey, how are you? You look great! I'm down 86lbs but I have to admit I thought I would look better at 175 lbs;(. I joined Best Fitness and Zumba 3x weekly. No hair loss that I have noticed. Buying clothes is hard. I hate buying anything because it doesn't fit long. Any suggestion on buying clothes?

    Kim,
I am doing very well, thank you for asking!! I had the TPN discontinued near the end of October, and the PICC line removed in the middle of November, and was able to return to work the Monday after Thanksgiving. I am still taking a medication that the nutrition doctor (the one who managed the TPN) prescribed that finally got my stomach doing what it should. A week ago Wednedsay I had an appointment with her and we decided to stop the medication, and by Monday I had returned to being unable to eat very much and vomiting whenever I tried, so back on the medication I went and all has returned to normal again. So I guess I will be on the medication for quite some time yet. Which all in all is ok with me considering the alternatives. I have lost 69 pounds to date and have so much more energy at home and at work. I have gone from wearing a 1X - 3X size scrub uniforms to med and small!! So I am so excited that I am feeling well, and that I am losing weight. How about you, how are you doing? How was your surgery and how are you doing now?

Hello there.. I kinda fell off the posting wagon here.. LOL .. I have been so busy...and so excited about the journey.. I am here to tell you.. never felt better.. I am losing my hair like crazy now. My hair is half the thickness if not more but I had a lot to start with I am lucky..but it is freaking me out. No one can notice it but I do. I have gotten over it with down 6 pants sizes and almost 50+pounds. It is starting to come off more easily. I was stuck in a long stall but with the holidays.. something happened it started dropping off daily. Think it was because I was eating more.. sounds weird right?! lol ..
I was having a problem with the throwing up.. but it wasnt even throwing up as it was an insane amount of for no other word "spit like" this was mainly when I ate too fast or rich foods I have figured it out.. Hasnt happened in over a week now.. I have slowed down again.. Mostly chinese food. think I ate it too quick.
I am so thrilled with the results of this whole thing... looking forward to having a nice shopping spree.. been really holding off as long as I can.. but treat myself to a pair of jeans each month. Loving that they barely last a month.

Hey, Dolly! Thanks for the message! I'm doing okay. I started chemo last Thursday. I have to do 8 rounds, one every three weeks. I'll finish in mid-May, then I can move forward with my reconstruction and my sleeve. The first few days after chemo are tough. I need to go have my post-chemo bloodwork done today and also see the plastic surgeon. Not look forward to driving in this mess. Oh, well! How are YOU doing? You must be a little dinky thing by now!

I am down 34 since the process.. but 19 since the surgery. I thought like yourself that it would fly off a little quicker.. but I guess if we average 10 a month in a year that still takes off 120! So I am trying to be patient.. It just gets a little frustrating when you aren't really eating much and its all still with me.. LOL
Glad you are doing well though. Cannot believe its been over a month already.

Just checking in...we are officially past the one month anniversary...How are you doing? The weight is coming off a little slower than I expected for not eating much...but it's all good.. not thinking about food.. or hungry...so that in itself is worth it all... keep in touch .. love to hear how your journey is going.

So it's Sunday, my surgery was Weds so now this is day 5. I thought the pain would have gotten better, not so much. Maybe when the staples come out this week cause I think that is what the stabbing pain is when I get up. Although I had some stomach fat, I did have some muscles there that I guess get poked through and that is what is really the bruising. I am having a pretty good time with drinking, I have had some applesauce, today will try a pudding for lunch. The drinking is going ok I just sip all day long. Frozen crystal light (remember the tupperwear things when you were a kid that you filled and put in a holder? thats what I have been using) think I am going to do the same with a protein chocolate drink, might be a good FOOL-TOOL to get past that aftertaste they give you. How are you doing? I havent really figured out how to navigate this blog/forum thing. I am hoping you are doing well. Keep in touch, we can go through this together to help eachother out since we are at the same stages. Stay strong.. try not to let the staples BOING lol

Very discouraged/need suggestions

by Kcirigz on 07-30-2012 at 09:18 PM
I really need to vent....This has been a horrible no good very bad day. It started with being woke up by a good friend of mine calling to let me know that her 42 yr. old cousin (who had WLS) a little over two months ago suffered a massive heart attack and is now brain dead. My friend went on to tell me that she feels her cousins heart attack was some how related to the WLS. She begged me to back out of the surgery and said her whole family regrets her cousins decision to have the surgery.

Feeling discouraged

by Kcirigz on 06-04-2012 at 06:26 PM
I have been cleared by all the specialists for my surgery. However, I was told that because my insurance requires me to be under the care of a nutritionist for 90 days, I have to once again go see him(he already cleared me) right before I can even get put onto the doctors schedule for the surgery just to satisify the insurance requirements. I feel so frustrated! I am a teacher and was looking forward to having the whole summer to recover.

I have read a few posts on here discussing 32Fr or 36Fr...What is that referring to? There is so much to learn.
