- In a nutshell... Worked hard for most of my life until I started having major vascular and orthopedic problems about two years ago. Because of this, Ive added a lot of weight . Ive been offered a Gastric Sleeve Op , and Ive been told my surgery date will be within the next 6 months. I thought it might be a good idea to glean as much info from other GS patients, as possible! One week post Gastric Sleeve Op!! Im feeling a bit stronger today and I can feel already that my new tummy is settled down quite well. :-) . The Op went well , but had a LOT of dry-wretching , pain and nausea. By day three though, I was able to take down a sip of water and Fortisips. I was subsequently released from Hospital on the evening of day three and have steadily felt better each day. Getting a good night,s sleep helped me enormously too.
