Hubby not being supportive

Hi everyone , soooo I have amy date of March 13th .

Sadly my husband isn't being very supportive at all , he has been telling me how fat I am and how I need to loose weight (not in a mean way more for my health ) but it still hurts .

I have lost 19kg on my own before but I just can't keep it up .

He says I'm just being selfish and lazy and I need to find the motivation to do it again, the thing is I have none left I'm sick of trying and failing .

It's making me abit disheartened that he's not being supportive , I thought he would be pleased and supportive that I'm Domingo something about my weight .

This is more common than you think and most times, it stems from fear of change and insecurity. Take care of yourself and be selfish. You are taking steps to prolong your life. Good for you!! For once, this really IS all about you.

Those fortunate not to struggle with weight issues don't understand. I have lost and regained SOOO..... Many times. I was good at losing but not maintaining. This surgery has been such a blessing and I am grateful to have a very supportive husband. Your husband will love having a healthy, happy wife. I agree if he thinks you are being selfish- be selfish. Best decision I ever made!

If he cant love you at your worse then he sure cant have you at your best. My fiancée has been there for me sense the gaining of weight and never did he say anything like that to me and if he did i would've made sure his rear end would had suffer at the end of the door. Please stop thinking so nicely as of he is not saying it in a bad way. Its hurting you hun and him out of everyone shouldn't be saying mean things to you at your hardest times of life. You know when i started this whole process i thought to my self depending on how he is towards me its depending if im gonna stay with him and let me tell you at my highest weight he even started bathing me cause i couldn't reach some areas like the rear end and private parts but he stood by me. Now he is the one telling me he is afraid of me leaving him and all i do is grab his little face and tell him if you was with me throughout my worse ur the only one that deserves me in my best. Not all men will treat you right but its up to you if you want to change that and you should. But only u could decide. Good luck my friend, i hope you make the right moves

If he won't support you, then find others in your life and even here who will.

You are so smart and right to become healthier, even without his support.

He may shape up by the time you've reached goal. Or not. Either way, by that point you'll be in much better shape -- physically, mentally, emotionally. And that is what will matter to you.

Sorry but how can someone tell you you are "fat" and not mean it in a mean way. Tell him he has a choice; he can kiss your "fat" ass now and get on board OR he will be kissing your skinny ass GOODBYE one day. This shit pisses me off.
Insecure little assholes - damned if you are fat and damned if you want to get thin. Either way tell him to kiss your ass. Reading crap like this makes me forever grateful that I am single by choice and will stay that way. I dealt with whiny little titty babies with my kids and grandkids and damned if I will deal with it in a grown assed man

I don't know you or your husband so I won't say anything negative about either. I will say that you are doing this for you and your health. Maybe he is insecure. Talk with him about it. Join a support group or just come on here and be encouraged. Remember this is for your health and well being. Good luck and I look forward to reading about your journey.

I don't understand why some men feel act this way. You suppose to love me but in the same breath you are calling me names and/or saying this is not going to work. You know what I agree azladyrider, the hell with them. Either you with me or not, they need to get over themselves because life is not always about them. I pray you find the support you need.

Your husband sounds like an asshole. Sorry, just my opinion. Get your sugery. Get sexy and leave his ass for someone who will appreciate you and treat you right. Oh, and punch him in the neck for me if you get the chance.

Focus on yourself and being healthy for yourself. Don't look for his approval. It is easier that way. People who don't have a weight problem won't understand. I told my mom after I had the surgery and after losing a significant amount of weigh. She was so mad that I did something like that. That is why I told her AFTER the surgery. LOL!

Now I am a lot healthier than I have ever been. It is worth it.
