I know it's not what you want to hear, but its really too soon to throw in the towel and call the whole thing a failure. You're not losing as fast as some, but you will lose. Try to remain positive and remember the reasons you did this.

Sounds like buyers remorse. First off, I am glad you are OK. Your body and mind are making huge adjustments at this point. You need to heal. You will loose weight. Listen to your stomach. When you feel full, stop. Please make sure you are getting your nutrition and water. You need to stay healthy. I know it is easier to say. It will get easier. I am also a new sleeve and am still adjusting. For a week I lost nothing, but I can't give up. It is physically impossible. My stomach will only allow me to eat so much. Being of sound mind and knowing I can't eat a lot, I try to make the most of it. Protein first, and work on drinking. The weight will come off. My stall finally ended, lost 3 lbs this week. Good luck and hang in there.

Cherokee, you need to pull yourself out of this funk. You didnt become overweight overnight. This is a life long change that we have put ourselves on. There is no going back. Hang in there and you will start seeing positive results. You were one of the unfortunate ones where you had a rough start. Keep your chin up and work your plan and trust in your sleeve. I am 18 months out and I can tell you that it does get better. I know at first it seems like it was a bad decision but once you get to the point where you can get out and start moving again like normal you will feel better. Godspeed on your journey.

Cherokee, I agree with Seth. You would do well to gather yourself together and take a different perspective. From what I can see, you are engaging in stinking thinking of woe is me, I had troubles (that were not in your control), I have lost ONLEY 5 pounds so I must be a real f-up and did all of this in vain. I am a total failure.... The only time you are a failure is when you stop trying. As for weight loss, none of us have control of the scale. What we do have is control of how much we eat and how much exercise we get. The scale is going to weigh whatever the scale is going to weigh.
Take a3to5 day break from the scales, cool out, drop your stress, eat sensibly, and see where you go. Good luck in chilling out, drinking water, and lowering stress.

The hell you've gone through is probably why you have lost the 5 pounds. Your body is in total shock. You are doing everything right, keep it up. Then post again in a year. You will be amazed, I promise.

Seriously, this is all about the attitude. I don't know how you can be depressed knowing what a wonderful future you have to look forward to. Look at some youtube videos, that should cheer you up. Or read posts here. It is so much fun, but it won't happen overnight.

    Cherokee Girl,

I'd say you're at a crossroads. You can succumb. Or you can overcome.

It's the choice life offers every one of us.

I send you my best wishes for a great outcome.

Cherokee... Maybe you are not taking in enough calories and your body is in starvation mode trying to hold on to everything it can. You have to fuel your body's metabolism for it to reward you with weight loss. Keep a daily log of what you eat and look at calories and carb intake. You might need to change a few things up. And remember 64 oz of water or sugar-free liquid a day....water flushes away fat. Chin up and good luck. It will start to come off....you will see. Hide your scale.....

How much are you taking in of the following.....calories and fat/carbs? I'm 2 months out and are nowhere near able to consume 50 grams of protien yet. But I make sure everything going in my body is protien. I take my vitamins and drink water. I'm probably up to 30 grams of protien/day. I've lost 42 lbs. THIS IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM IS EASY THOUGH. Find your strength and will yourself to be positive. Whether you THINK you will fail or succeed....YOU ARE RIGHT! Best of luck in keeping your head up.

It could be you're losing but your body is retaining for fluids for some reason (can occur during healing) and thus it's not showing on the scale. That does happen to people. When the body feels safe to start releasing fluids, the numbers on the scale start moving rapidly for a while. Try to have faith that it's all going to work itself out. A positive attitude is beneficial in the battle. Best wishes.

Your body needs time to heal and it is holding on to every ounce until it can do that. For your safety and well being let your body be in control and allow it to do what it needs to do. I'm sure it is really hard to hear "be patient" but that is exactly what you need to do.

I didn't read all the posts, but let me tell you my beginning story. I lost 16 lbs in 10 days. Then NOTHING for 4 weeks. I had not a clue what I was doing wrong....or so I thought. Well I wasn't doing anything wrong, my body just needed to adjust and you are probably in that boat as well. I still to this day lose a bunch quickly and then nothing for 4-6 weeks. But please know that it will all catch up. At one point or another we have all been disappointed, thought to ourselves what the heck did I do?, etc. Talking it out and knowing you aren't the first and won't be the last is exactly the support you need. Hang in there. Keep doing what you are doing. I actually wasn't eating enough protein and had to choke it down, but it kicked my stalls. Don't get discouraged (to bad), it will all drop off in due time.
