I'm two months post-op.
In the last few days I've realized I can guzzle and gulp water again -- almost like I could before VSG-surgery. This will make it much easier to get all my water in from now on.
I think it also means my hiatal hernia repair (a small one) has now fully healed and that my new tummy is starting to be less swollen. If anyone knows differently, please chime in.
For those who are newly post-op, it looks like you'll be able to drink water just fine in a few months. In the meantime, sip, sip, sip.
EDIT: Lee6Lee's post below (#8) shows that this change is NOT universal. See what her experience with water (at 6 months out) has been.
