Default Thinking of Weight Watchers anyway

Well I niether gained nor lost during the holidays which is an improvement over ast years. I am scared to death of regaining the weight. I was thinking of rejoining weight watchers online because of the monitoring tools and support offered. Been stuck here for a couple of months but haven't exactly been back on track but mostly so. I guess this is the part where I have to make the effort not to regain weight and get that last bit off of me. I thought WW would help as the tracking tools are great and it would help keep me in line. Any vets have any feedback?

I did WW for MANY YEARS. I am a lifetime member, having lost 70 pounds on the program. It is great for motivation IF you have a dynamic leader, which at the time that I had. At one time I just felt like I was following the program, eating at minimum points and the weight was not coming off--I'm thinking that it had more to do with my metabolism more than anything else. I don't think you can go wrong by doing it.

I have done WW online in the past. For the money, I would recommend myfitnesspal.com instead. Myfitnesspal is free and offers the same thing plus it tracks everything for you. You can customize it to suit you. I would give that a try. Good luck.

I'm not a vet but I have heard that when people tend to slow down it's because they are returning back to old habits and realizing that you can still eat carbs and the like. Being a tall person myself and haven't gone through the surgery yet, I would be sad of only losing 100 pounds when I know that I need to lose 150. I say this because us taller people (I don't know how tall you are) carry weight well and can hide extra pounds. If you are satisfied with your weight loss then maintain, however, if you need to reach your goal and have stalled, then return back to the sleeved post-op plan and join SparkPeople.com or Myfitnesspal.com to track your food intake. We slip not on purpose but out of habit. This is something that we have to break. Good Luck!

All good suggestions. I see nothing wrong with doing weight watchers if that's what it takes to help you keep focused and stay on track. Wish you the best in getting the rest off.

Whatever tools it takes to maintain and/or to keep loosing, put them in place. I had kindof stalled and lost focus but on Christmas Eve there was a discussion on this forum about stalls. For whatever reason, it got me regenerated. I am back to basics for eating and back to the exercise routine. It is amazing how a week of being back on track can make you feel better. Do whatever it takes, sometimes just getting the support here on the forum will get you inspired.
I am looking for good information on a high protein low carb/fat eating plan. If anyone has a good one let me know.

Weight Watchers is great if you can make it work for you. It's just like the sleeve, it will only work for you if you put forth the effort to make it work or you will be right back where you started.

I use Fitbit. I have the Fitbit scale which automatically records my weight in the app. I have the Fitbit device that records activity. Mine is a clip on and my husband uses the Fitbit wrist band. The app is free and calculates everything. I love that I can look on my phone and see current weight, food tracking and fitness movement as well as trends.

I agree with what everyone has said, But I say if you feel that WW is better for you then go for it.Personally I'm where you are right now. And I've had to step back and look at what I was /was not doing. My weight have been going up and down and never going in the direction I need it too(smile) I'm stuck but I'm determined to get my head in the game and get the job done. So again do what you need to do. I feel what you are saying. Take care.

If you have never done Weight Watchers, I would suggest trying it. Yes, My Fitness Pal is free and a wonderful tool but it is harder to make better choices. WW points use a combination of calories, fat, carbs, and fiber to determine the points value of a food - I realized at one point I was eating a lot of low calorie/fat foods that were really high in carbs and offered very little in terms of nutritional value. I also found that having most fruits and vegetables at zero points motivated me to eat those rather than an easier to grab processed food item. Good luck!
