Great article Christie! I want to start at the gym this week and I had a question between split training and full body workout. Now I know, for a beginner, I should start by doing full body workout. There isn’t a personal trainer at the gym so I will have to find someone to help me develop a good plan.
I imagine this has healed but wanted to mention that I started doing two Silver Sneakers classes to vary from the Zumba I do four days a week... I find them very good as the teachers are trained to explain every muscle group and reason, you can work at your own pace, there is some gentle cardio etc. Yes it is aimed at the silver haired, lol, but at least her in Redwood City there are some badass women and guys doing it!
My arm still hurts since before Christmas. Been to the doctor twice ($80 co pay each time) who said it will get better. Over 6 months and not better. Losing my faith in the medical system.
Oh no! More and more I realize what an art diagnosis is. Have they said what it is?
That's a high co-pay! I whine about my medicare co-pays being higher than our work insurance has- I switched to saver my boss a ton of money. My hospitalization this week was 285 a day - works would have been 100 a day- what do you pay for hospital stays? I fear the answer!
Ot is wonderful you are so active in spite of the pain.
I think my hospital co-pay is $150 a day. 3 years until Medicare, now it's cobra so quite pricy.
Same here, I could have punched the rheumatologist I saw in February, such an incompetent disgrace!!
I noticed that besides my PPI making me sick, each time my stomach is getting worth, I stop taking my omegas 3 (does increase my reflux) but then my arthritis gets worth in just a few days.
If you don't take omegas yet, you could try that, it does help for real, that and turmeric, not sure which one works better I usually take both when my pain comes back, but it's a little hard for the stomach, better to take it before a meal.

have anyone on here bought some weights fgor home use? I am thinking of getting some, as the gyms round here are shut, also thinking of getting a under desk treadmill https://www.sports-supplements-compa...-treadmill-uk/ I am not sure if I should put the money into both. I am more likely to walk at the desk as I have a standing desk and work from home. I am thinking walk, jog in the day and do some weights in front of the tv for 40 minutes or so in the evening.
I’m an avid runner, 7+ miles, 4 x a week. That being said, we need to do weight training as well. I do an at home kettle bell work out and love it! Very simple. I use 12, 15, 20 and 30 pound kettle bells. Found great workout suggestions and routines on line. Everything delivered by Amazon. I’ve always been a gym member, but since COVID, have not renewed. Won’t go back either. (I will say that I enjoy the alone time of running and my solo weight training, it’s “my time.” Not for everyone. Look into “the bells” people. Great workout!
Everyday I'm thinking tomorrow will be the day I will start my diet and losing weight.
How to lose weight correctly without damaging your stomach?
Hi,
Weight training exercises can support weight loss by burning calories during and after workouts and by preserving muscle mass to prevent your metabolism from slowing down further. Weight training is also an utterly important component of burning off belly fat. As muscles burn off more calories than fat does when the body is at rest, having more muscle tone can help you to burn off more fat.
When you're weight training, do:
--Lift a decent amount of weight. Start with a weight you can lift comfortably 12 to 15 times. ...
--Use proper form. Learn to do each exercise correctly. ...
--Breathe-
--Seek balance-
--Add strength training to your fitness routine.
--Sleep as much as you can.
Rest.
You should have started doing strength training a little bit every day. Immediately and a lot of it is very painful. Nothing is surprising in the fact that your whole body hurts. You just overdid it, and that's why. The body does not hurt after every strength training. It just takes time to get used to. Naturally, after your body gets used to such training, it will be easier. Now you need to give yourself a few days for all the pain to go away. Otherwise, you simply won't be able to train. I am also actively training and losing weight. I don't do strength training. I prefer cardio workouts. The progress is good, and I bought a smart scale from https://www.vont.com/product/smart-scale-bathroom-scale-weight-scale/ to see the progress more clearly.
