Been a while since I've blogged about my progress so here go. So far I've lost 103 lbs off my max weight (50 pre-sleeve, 53 post sleeve). 30 more labs to go for my goal weight. I'm feeling pretty good and have decent energy. I can eat just about anything but I've been good and stick to protein (around 90-100 g per day). I can only tolerate a little bread. No rice, pasta or banana bread. All of these have given me problems. Chicken breast too (my arch-nemesis). I do miss beer though

I just finished spending the last 11 days in Europe (7 in Paris, 4 in Germany) and I have to say it was super tough keeping any kind of appropriate diet while there. Way too much bread and way too much full fat foods. The worst part of the whole trip was being in Germany and not being able to drink beer. I will admit I tried a small glass and very soon thereafter regretted it. Bloating and a lot of discomfort. I was warned yet didn't listen (lesson learned). I guess the worst part was feeling

This is my first international trip since getting sleeved. On balance it's been ok. The Parisian diet is definitely not low fat and low carb. I've basically been eating just partial meals and leaving a lot on my plate, much to the dismay of local waiters. They also look at me weird when I don't order wine with dinner. I have had a small glass of wine each day, just not with dinner (with one unfortunate exception noted below). You know, the whole "can't eat and drink at the same time"

This is about the 3rd time I've had a drink since the sleeve on 12/16. Each time either a bourbon or an Irish whiskey (Jameson's right now)with a water chaser. I take it slow and I've never had a problem. Before the surgery they gave me the speech about alcohol being empty calories, etc. I was just thinking to myself "am I back in high school health class?" So occasionally I'm going to have a drink and enjoy it. I'm not saying YOU should have a drink. Hell if you don't that leaves

So I'm officially 93 lbs down since my high of 333 last summer. Lost 50 before the sleeve and 43 after. 40 more to my target weight.
Overall I'm pretty stoked. I'm getting more energy and my trainer said my last two workouts were my best ever. She's having me do exercises I could have never done before (which basically means she gets to inflict more pain on me). I'm having to buy new clothes but I'm trying to be conservative about it since I still have more weight I wish to
