Hey Streetbob. I'm about 4 weeks out now and feeling okay. I really can't eat anything and I've thrown up all the soft foods I've tried. I can only eat a few ounces of soup or about half a Yoplait yogurt. It's still hard for me to get water down and I've yet to get all the ounces I need. Protein shakes are hard to because they taste different now, some overly sweet. Dr. Aceves was great and the hospital was clean. Overall, the nurses were very attentive. It took me a while to come out of anesthesia but I have a history of this. I mostly slept while I was there but everyone else who was there looked great. I don't remember any real pain but I'm sure it's because the nurses were on top of getting my pain meds into me.

PS- If you have a "last meal," there's a great Chinese food restaurant across the street from the hospital. I didn't have a "last meal" but my mom ate there and said it was pretty good. Good luck with your surgery!

I live in Las Vegas and am going down the 23rd with my wife. It's great you were living so close. How do you feel now that you are +w2 weeks out? Any tips? Do you feel good about your surgeon choice? We have heard such good things about the hospital and care. I know you said you were nervous, how are you feeling now?

Surgery went well. 1st day is a blur. I kept hitting the morphine pain pump every 10 mins. Today im feeling much better. I will be discharged tomorrow. Started on water h juices today. Never thought diet cranberry juice could taste so good,lol! Thanks again for thinking of me on my special say!
