One liter of IV, 2 cups of tea and a vitamin water and still haven't peed. . bladder scan showed a 65% full bladder, I'm sure a catheter is on its way. This is like déjà vu from MX. It did take more than 24 hrs there.

Still here, no change but did do some research on the subject. So apparently I have a problem with aneastesia where my bladder muscles get paralyzed and it takes about 24 hrs to get back to normal. That should be in about 4-5 hrs. Ugh!

About 10 yrs ago, I had an issue when I had an iud inserted for the first time. I had excruciating pain with it going in and the worst bleeding for about 10 days thereafter. Then just as I thought I was on the mend, I went to a charity dinner and by the time I got home I noticed that even though my bladder was extremely full, I couldn't urinate. By the next morning it was so bad, I took myself off to the ER. This went on for about a week back and forth to the ER until I was admitted to hospital under the care of a urologist. At this point I begged him to take the iud out. It took him 3 tries to find it because it had lodged itself really badly. To cut a long story short, this went on for another month until a neurosurgeon diagnosed that I had a spinal infection, probably caused by the iud, and that there were no nerve impulses being sent from my brain to my bladder. After 5 days in hospital on a cortisone drip, I was finally able to urinate on my own again.

So when this happened in MX after my sleeve surgery, you can imagine how stressed I was. That time it took just about 24 hrs to clear.

While I was writing this, the nurse came to tell me the doc said I can go home.

Please send 'positive pee vibes' to me and hopefully this will clear in a few hours.

Hey, I found your post. I pm'd you earlier. Glad the GB is out. Life should be so good now. Did they give you some disposable cathetors (SP) to go home with? Hope no more ER visits. Get better soon. Linda

Thanks Linda, yeah they did. I'm waiting till I'm bursting to go because it really isn't pleasant. I just made a huge mistake and got on the scale. Yikes, I gained almost 10lbs since yesterday morning. I'm not going to have an absolute freak out (just a little one, lol) because I'm retaining all this water, cannot pee and still bloated from all the gas. *sigh*
