Hi everyone
Thanks for all the well wishes. I eventually had surgery at about 5pm yesterday. I got bumped once because of another emergency surgery.
I haven't seen the doctor yet but I'm assuming my GB is out.
I have muscular pain around my belly button incision as that is where the GB is pulled out. It just feels like I've done a million sit ups. I've slept on and off since returning to my room. Walking the halls and of course eating and drinking is nothing like post sleeve surgery. All the nurses and doctors kept warning me of gas pains which if course I'm all aware of already but surprisingly so, I have not yet had any. In MX, I only got gas pains after drinking the day after surgery. It wasn't immediate for me then either. I'm busy drinking my 2nd cup of tea and I've had almost a whole bottle of vitamin water and a bunch if ice chips, so perhaps I'll be lucky and not get any! Yay, wouldnt that be great!
The downside to aneastesia for me is it apparently takes about 24 hrs for me to pee on my own in MX thy put that down to the fact that I had a spinal tap as well as the general aneastesia and it took my system longer to wear off than others. Here, I have no dea. All my other surgeries that I've had, I had a catheter so I wouldn't know. I have an IV going and I'm drinking so I guess well see. I don't think they will discharge me until I've gone on my own.
And lastly, just to add to the unpleasantness of having another surgery, AF came to visit 2 hours before surgery. It must be that 1/4 Irish in me with that kind of luck?
Oh yeah, another thing, they were only able to reuse 2 of my original incision sites, the one in my belly button and the one between my breasts. I now have 3 more incision sires down the right side of my body. Dr Aceves used internal dissolving stitches and steri strips, this time I have staples.
Well that should cover my GB surgery experience for now. All I need to do now is pee and then go home!
