Default Lean turkey.. But is that all?

Made some turkey chilli but its still gurgling my stomach

Am I really supposed to blend it?

Purée means blend the crap out of everything ? I dont have a blender

Can I chew it for 20mins? Lol

I want to make a turkey burger with everything you'd put on a burger without the bread and mash it down to add to mashed potatoes. Advisable ?

Final question why does the new stomach don't like red meat or sausage again?

do you have a potato masher that will work...i would not try the burger just yet give it a few more weeks...I am 4 months out and only red meat i can handle is hambuger sometimes..I wish I could eat steak but it just hurts when I do..but I guess it is the price we have to pay to get healthy again and I would do it over and over again good luck

I never blended anything. I smushed some foods with my fork first and took small bites and chewed them a lot. I think everyone is different bc I haven't had any problems with meat except hotdogs. The hot dog did not work well for me at all lol.

I've never had an issue with red meat. Had a GREAT Steak and Lobster tail at Red Lobster!!! Of course, the steak lasted three meals!

Everyone is different. I have days that are good ad days that aren't. The key for me is to chew chew chew, almost liquify. When I'm not thinking about it, I have taken too big of bites and have to chew one side up then chew the other. But that doesn't happen that much anymore. I was told to stick with getting my protein in and water and keep to low fat low calorie foods. I haven't tried bread yet and don't have desire. Actually this week I've been nauseaous most days. I spent $ on lunch today and threw it all away. I have to embrace the planning I need to do and start packing my lunch the night before.

I had ground hamburger mixed with soup and beans tonight for the first time. I just made sure I chewed to practically mush before swallowing. I didn't have a problem at all but maybe I took one bite too many. That seems to be my biggest problem. Its always that one bite too many. I really have not had a lot of discomfort when this happens just feels like bad heartburn for about 15 minutes. I probably won't make a habit of red meat though...it just didn't taste that good to me. I have got to work on my portion control. My limit is somewhere in between 1/4 to 1/2 cup. I just always seem to take one bite too many.

Hamburger meat is about the only meat I can tolerate....who would've thought...nothing else stays down at all....haven't tried an actual burger patty yet...pretty scared of that...thinking about trying 1/2 or maybe even a 1/4 of a sandwich soon...really not having any problems with bread and I feared I would...everyone is so different, you just have to make up your own rules as you go along and see what works for you and what doesn't...last week my sleeve was a vegetarian, this week it's only enjoying mexican food...looking forward to her turning Italian... :-)

Jeremy, you sound like Me! I am sick of not being able to chew, and I live with my 21 year old son who I SWEAR HAS A TAPEWORM or something, eats round the clock! we keep doing our "walking" at walmart, and he always wants to go through the food aisles. I look at meatballs, spaghetti, pizzas. OMG. But doc says it is way too early. I saw doc today and they said, BLAND PUREES. Sunbeam makes a small, single serving food chopper that purees for one. Very cheap. It works great. I decided to stick with broth for another week. Everything else upsets my belly. Especially cold like protein shakes. But my surgery was 12/7. GOOD LUCK.............be careful not to push yourself too quickly. I'm dieing for a salad , and doc said NOT TILL 3 MONTHS OUT.

I think my sleevette is also Italian, although she talks to me of Taco bell............but since I'm only two weeks out, I just keep driving by the places with blinders on.............BUT AS SOON as I'm allowed real food, 1/4 cup of spaghetti with a zesty meatball is ON MY MENU. mmmmmmmmmmmmmm
