    Default Nightmares

Ok.....so I had surgery 11 days ago and all is going well, I'm losing, learning how to get my protein in, feeling better, etc. But, I am having the worst dreams ever. Very vivid nightmares, a few nights ago, one was so bad that I woke up and still had trouble shaking it off.
Is this common? Has anyone else had sleeping troubles?

I don't know how long the anesthetic takes to get out of our systems but I think that has something to do with it.

I had some very strange and vivid nightmares for the first few weeks then they went away. I think it had to do with the pain killers. THat I mostly took at night.

Interesting you posted this today. I was sleeved on the 12th and Last night I watched 'Blue Velvet' before going to bed and had an absolutely horriffic nightmare starring Dennis Hopper shortly after falling asleep. I woke up and then had trouble getting back to sleep because it had been so vivid and so god awful nasty. I joked to my wife this morning that I needed to make a mental note to myself not to watch any David Lynch movies before going to bed in the future. It's the only one I recall having since surgery, but this was one of the most graphic and gory nightmares I can recall having, perhaps ever. No idea if its related to anything or not ... but certainly made enough of an impression with me that I immedietely opened your post when I saw the subject line.

Hehehehe...My worse one was that instead of being sleeved someone had placed two extra stomachs inside of me, and that made my body go to sleep. Pretty freaky! So now, I'm staying up as late as I can hoping to get better sleep. I wasn't counting on the "bad trips"....hahahhahaha. Good night and good dreams all!

I have always had night mares when I sleep on my back and in the first few weeks after surgery I was on my back a lot of course. So I attributed it to that. It might be the pain meds for everybody else or just the 'trauma' of surgery and al the fear that comes with. I didn't take pain meds but once after I got home so I can't blame it on that. It should get better soon.
