Hi! I wanted to say thanks to all that contribute to this forum. I first learned about it 2 weeks ago when I was deciding lapband vs. sleeve...after much research & talking to my dr. and all of the positive input from the forum, I've decided on the sleeve. I had my endoscopy a week ago and am in a holding state, waiting on insurance approval...would love to hear how long some of you have experienced the wait time is for Anthem/BC PPO if there's anybody out there. I am so excited to start the journey!!!

That's great news! It will happen soon enough, trust me I had to wait out my insurance here in OZ for 12 months. Now I am 3 weeks away.

Waiting on insurance approvals can be a little nerve-wracking once you've made the decision, but your doctor's office can help you through it. Just go to all the appointments required, jump through all the hoops, and eventually, if you fit the profile for their requirements, they will approve. I actually had my psychologist's evaluation before they approved that visit (Yes, that HAD to be pre-approved too), but they ended up paying the doctor. I had surgery on a Monday, and as late as the Friday before, my dr.'s office called to tell me the insurance company had not approved the surgery yet. I called up the insurance company to give them Hell, but they told me they approved it that morning. So I called back my dr.'s office and gave them the approval number...the rest is history.

Im also initially wanted the band and now awaiting to meet my surgeon in a few days time when I am hoping to get a surgery date.
