    Default Goals

How many of you long time sleevers set a goal for yourselves only to start to get twards that goal and realize that that isnt as far as you will need to go?
I set my goal weight at 200lbs to start with but now that I know what I loss and can see what is left feel like my goal needs to be much ligher?
Should I reset my goal at my ideal weight or just leave it and change it once I reach the 200 lb mark?
From what I see I have lost 88lbs now and the way it looks to me I could lose at least that much more.
Im conflicted because I dont want to be complaicent and get to 200 and feel like that is my finish line when I know now it wont be.
I really want to be ripped up and cut and really hott looking one day cause I never experienced that feeling before.
I have never even contemplated it ever being an option till now.

I think I've set conservative goals. Realistically, I could get down to 155 pounds. I think I created a best case scenario goal. I thought about what I weighed when I was in peak condition basically and factored in that I'm not a teenager, I've had three kids, and extra skin might prevent me from getting down that low again.

1 pound of fat can manifest itself on our bodies in different ways. At our initial goal we may be closer to the trim and cut look than we think. For me, I will just have to reach goal first and then see. =)

I set my goal for 135 but a healthy BMI would be 122-124 for my height 5 foot 4. I am going to try to get to 135 and then see what happens. lol.

My goal is set 2lbs below my 'ideal' weight just for round numbers. 'My' head goal is 149 (68kgs) which is the weight I was at for many years prior to getting pregnant.

Great question, Buddy. I think it's better to have several goals and not just a number. Also, I think our goals are an ongoing process, meaning we have to reassess often and reprioritize.

I have not been at my ideal weight for so long, not sure what is realistic for me anymore.

    But, I do want to:

    1. Eat healthier while being creative
    2. Incorporate some form of FUN exercise daily which includes my family!!
    3.
    4.

If you had asked me five weeks ago, I think I would have NEVER of thought to say ]" I want to be down 40+lbs in five weeks" LOL SO, I have to reprioritize my goals yet again. Now, I have this belly full of JELLO, which I do not like!!! (time for another mini-goal)

Great job to you on your many goals, keep it up!!!

Buddy sometimes I feel like we share a brain....

I've just recently decided to hit my conservative goal, celebrate that and then discuss with my doctor another best possible scenario goal weight....

Conservative goals are great things but you have to remember they are conservative. I can only tell you how i make it work for me but I set my goal for my self at 160 i dont think i want to get that small but that just puts me in the healthy BMI range and that is more what its about for me. I was beginning to think that was unattainable (but then I was POSITIVE 50 pounds in 8 weeks was unattainable and i did that) but then i broke it down i am at 244 i want 160 so i have 84 to go. so break it down further 84 divided by 52 weeks (i figure one year goal is great to have ) and that is only 1.61 pounds a week and to me that makes it seem so much more attainable. I dont know if that would help you but i hope it does.

When I read "Eat healthier while being creative " I immediately thought of whole foods market website. I wanted to let you know (if you didnt already) Whole Foods Market: Natural and Organic Grocery there are a ton of good healthy recipes that are easy on their site and it will make a shopping list and recipe box for you. I only just found it last week but i have made like 5 things from it and they were great and even my 2 yr old ate all the healthy foods.

I had the same thoughts when I set my goals. So for now my ticker is set for lose 100 pounds. It seems like so much now (pre-surgery), but my long term goal is to be 199 pounds. That is more than 50% my highest weight, so I may or may not get that low. But even 100 pounds would make a huge change in my health, so one step at a time.

I have a "risk understanding" appointment w/surgeon Dec.8th, they will schedule surgery then. He said figure early to mid Jan. Only things after that appointment will be scope and a class of post surgery menu stuff, but both can be done after surgery date is set.

I am like most - I set my goal based on what I remember myself being when I felt my best. But I am like you - I dont want to get there and think I can quit - maybe there is something better? So I decided that once I hit that goal, I would not care about the number so much again - my next goal will be something physical - like run a 1/2 marathon, or climb a small mountain or something that will force me to get into better shape and keep working on my weight and strength but without having to choose something that might be impossible and discourage me (i.e. fitting into size 4 - my BONES wouldnt fit into those! )...
