I printed this and am putting it on the fridge. I'm including Buddy's comment, because it makes me smile
Thanks to both of you.

WAY TO GO BUZZ KILL!!!! BAhahahahahaha--- I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!! Just home from 3 week vacation. This morning was at 186 lbs. I am ok with that, after HOURS of flying---(had mechanical problems with one plane) Now, back to topic---YES---MEASURE YOUR FOOD---I carry a 1/2 cup in my purse. My eyes still do not "KNOW" what 4-6 oz is like. I know that vacations are hard---good luck to all who go on them---as Judie says---our sleeve is a TOOL!!! My family is all about carbs (the devil) and it was difficult at times to WALK AWAY FROM THE FOOD---well, today is new day---back on track to walking AND making good choices---Missed everyone- Hugs and blessings- Connie
I've been battling the same things. I try to keep myself in check by logging my food everyday, recording my weight daily, and exercising. It is hard. I've been in the same place for over a month.I'm very close to goal, so I'm not complaining..... But I do not want to pick up bad and old habits. It is a tool. And we have all come too far, worked too hard, sacrificed too much~ to cave to old habits. Wishing you all the best and hope you will do the same for me. Those ole devil carbs are trying to creep their way back in and I refuse to NOT have a handle on it. Prayers greatly appreciated.
For those who have trouble getting themselves to exercise, it is all about what YOU like. If you are trying to force yourself to do an exercise that you hate, you will not stick with it. For me, I know that I do not care for cardio machines. I get way too bored. Sometimes I will still do it anyway, but I make sure to have an energetic playlist on my ipod, filled with dance music. Mostly I prefer classes, or a personal trainer in 30 min sessions. As far as classes I recommend everyone who hates exercise try some non-traditional classes like ZUMBA or bellydancing. So much fun! I also love boxing or kickboxing. The trick is to do something so fun that you don't realize you are exercising.

@Alayajane
My Dr. (Dr Umbach) highly urged against eating 6 times a day and pushed ONLY 3 meals per day therefore, I don't just eat 3-6 oz per meal! I would never get in my protein or other nutrients. But I do agree, I need to eat to satisfaction & not fullness.
I really appreciate your post as it did open my eyes a bit :-)
Thank you
It's really nice to hear that some one who is this far out with the sleeve
I have seen my stepfather who will be 2 yrs out from having the Bypass this Feb and hope that Iget to lose the weight he does. He also went through 6 oz eating but it slowly increased to where he eats total normal but no where big portions.
So happy for you!!!
My hubby had gastric bypass in 2002, he never went to any support group or sought out for any emotional support. He gained back about 85 lbs of his original 185 lost. He did this very gradually and I am so scared I will do the same, so that is the reason that I blog and seek out support groups like I do. I SO appreciate this type post because it is a reminder to check ourselves everyday. Something got us to where we are, ignoring it and relying on ONLY the surgery to do the job of changing us is going to ultimately drive us right back to where we were pre-op.
In my searches I have found a plan that can help us to get that "tight" feeling back that we have early on in the surgery. It is called the 5 day pouch test. You can goggle it for details, but basically it is a 5 day way of eating that causes your tummy to tighten up and gets you off foods that will sabotage you. My mother has done it and said it helped her to feel full quicker (she is not a sleever but did have a hiatal hernia repair that mimicked our procedure.)
Thank you all for your post, they have helped me gain prospective, this week has been a tough one for me...I have pushed the window both with quantity and frequency...but that quality is hard to fight off this time of year, it would helpful if I wasn't such a good cook!!!!!!!! LOL
God gave us people to love and things to use, not things to love and people to use.

This is an excellent reply Jane. Such a sensible head on those shoulders.
I am getting comments from fellow vsg'ers that I am eating more than they are, and it made me a little worried, but when I looked at my portion it's not "increased" it's just the size I feel happy eating, that allows me to lose weight, and fits all my nutrients in.
I use a baby sized plastic plate and small cutlery and eat about 50g of meat, with some veg or salad. Not exactly large, not sure what it translates into oz.
Thanks for reminding me that I control how much I eat at each meal, not my stomach size or my emotional hunger.
