Hi,
I am a former lap band paitent! I had to have may band taken out due to numoris infections around my port and the final thing was i had a staph infection in my tube and in the band. My new Bariatric surgeon and i thought the sleeve would be a good thing for me! I'm just hoping to find support on here for my husband and i. My Husband is going to have the sleeve done early nxt year!

Hello Michelle12178. I have just been on here for a few days now and there seems to be a lot of nice people. I have found out so many thing that has helped me thus far. I am 9 days out from surgery and I have had some questions and to see other going through the same things it makes me more at ease. Congrats and welcome.

Hi, Michelle,

I am about 5 weeks post op from a band to sleave conversion. The sleave has been SOOOOO much easier than the band. I had a good 6 months or so, then it was Hell for about another 12-14 months. I feel so much better, that i cant even begin to describe it. I have read a number of people having a hard time with how they eat with the sleave. My bet is that you will not have any trouble since you are used to the small bites, chew chew chew, and eat slowly thing from the band. A big difference so far now that i am getting back on to solid foods, is that eating too fast you feel it the same way "pressure" as the band, but much less severly - at least for me. My husband and I both had the gastric sleeve surgery. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I've more trouble eating than he does because I have some teeth missing in the back and it's harder to chew, chew, chew. But it's all good. I wish you both the best of luck.
