I hate winter! I want to hibernate at the first sign of it. Our first snow is coming in tonight. Yesterday was 80 degrees, it will be 30 by tomorrow morning and 17 by Thursday. That's enough to drive anyone crazy!!
Did I say I hate winter!!!!
And I thought the only place in the country with crazy temp oddities is New England! No snow here yet. The earliest I have ever seen it was Columbus Day one year.
I find I'm having much more trouble handling the cold this year, how about you?
Best NSV - fitting on a kid's amusement park ride with my 4 yr old grandson!
CFIDS =Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) Also dx with post-bariatric reactive hypoglycemia; and chronic gastritis (both sleeve complications). Permanently disabled.
Start weight 335, down to 218, up during gastritis. Have accepted there is no way to lose it with my hypoglycemia. Current weight 260. Currently doing 10 day sleeve reset and determined to get back down to my post surgical weight or close to it.
I'm with you trailnurse. I will do cool/cold anyday. I was in Houston early June on a motorcycle and may I just say "No Thanks"! It was stifling. We have had snow for a couple of weeks now. Got to 40 today. I will take it. I just don't like the slippery roads and idiot drivers!
It is very dry here. Do allergies like that? I have only lived in MI for 21 years and in AK for 30 1/2 years. Someday I may go where winter doesn't last so long-but-on the flip side-we don't have any gross snakes, skunks, creepy crawlies! I am a serious spider hater. And I would probably have to take valume (sp) for the rest of my life if I lived where they were. There is no room for them in my life!!!
Hahahaha! I live in Winnipeg - otherwise called 'Winter'peg...Joke around here is that there are only 2 seasons, Winter & Road Construction (to fix the roads after Winter)... Summers are (celcius) mid 20's - 30's C (75-85 F) and Winters average -20 C (-4 F) , often January/February = - 40 C and we will get a few days that go as cold as - 50 C.
I have a strong aversion to the drastic cold and enjoy the heat, the hotter the better, so I try to flee for a weeks vacation to escape the cold in January or February. But I will say this, once it hits -20 C, cold is cold, there isn't a lot of difference. At -40 and colder however cars don't like to start. They may even freeze up and not move until they are pulled inside a garage and a block heater/battery blanket are plugged in. So that info is for the benefit of those of you who've never experienced this kind of cold. My hubby & son love hockey - thank goodness they can find joy in the cold, but if it was only me, I'd move south
Winter is coming and I am thrilled. So love the cooler, cold weather. I guess that's what happens when you live in very hot weather like I do in the Central Valley in California. Give me cold evenings wrapped in a blanket by the fire with a bowl of soup or a cup of tea. I think the cold weather for me is about holidays and family. Waking up on a Saturday morning to cold and fog and a pot of coffee is so wonderful. It's the next best thing to rainy mornings. Hibernation, for me, is 'indoors when it's 108 degrees outside'. Hate the summer when it's so hot! ugh!
