I guess its the bigger hole...as wht my doctor told me it takes about 2 weeks to heal...are u taking antibiotics and pain reliever? And you have to clean it often with iodine and put gauze or something so that it wont get infected..or if itll make u feel better you can go to a doctor and ask about it...mine healed after 6days...
    i am with hope.

Yes, it is normal for many. I found wearing a "belly binder" was helpful, along with some snugger pants to help hold my lower belly in place. When sleeping, keep a pillow right next to your belly so when you try to roll, you can hold it tightly against you to help.
I slept sitting up at an incline for 2 weeks, then on my back lower for another week.
Oh, also, a heat pack on your lower back helps relax all the muscles in the area.
congrats on your surgery and hope you feel better soon!

Its been almost a month since i have had my surgery. Its still tender in the incision area. You had major surgery, it will take time to heal. It will get better.

All the post on this subject seem to be right on.. I must say I'm impressed with how each of you have bits of advise for this issue. Major Surgery...yes it is, and healing does take time. The main thing that helpped me was I had a precious C-Section and my gall bladder removed, so I sorta knew about how to roll out of bed and how to ease myself up and down. I also had bruising around that incision as well, took a good 3-4 weeks for it to totally go away, but it did. The pillow under your tummy while you are resting ...a big plus...also helps to hold it while moving, laughing, coughing, sneezing and oh yeah..FARTING..just a little hug and it helps. I hope you feel better soon...keep us posted.

Hang in there. As long as your incisions do not seem infected then you are ok. If they do seem infected, red, hot or pussy... then call the surgeon immidately.

Otherwise hang in there and this too shall pass. I promise!!!

It will get better. I had more pain from the spot where the drainage tube was than any other incision. Give it a week or two. They say the more you move the quicker the soreness and swelling go away.
