    Default Stomach cramps

    Hi all!

Out of interest does anyone suffer with stomach cramps post sleeve? I’m almost 10 months out and suffer with stomach cramps but only occasionally and I can’t pin point what causes them. I mentioned it to my surgeon but was told because it was only happening occasionally and not regularly that it was nothing to worry about but didn’t really say anything else!

I just wondered if there was anything I could do not to get them??

    Thanks

You might want to try to journal your food intake and note when those cramps show up.

I'm 3 1/2 years out, and still have stomach cramps when eating cruciferous veggies. Broccoli is a big no no, cauliflower can be okay if the quantity is small but can't over do it.
The first year, eggs were not the best for like a few months, and lactose also took a few months to be ok. Cheese and yogurt was ok but not milk or whey protein shake.

Also, like for all bariatric patients, it's important to eat slowly, small bites, chew very well, especially beef or meats that are hard to digest.

But try to look at what you eat and when those symptoms show up, you might understand why.

I agree with Sandra. Journal when you have the cramps so you can figure out. It is not uncommon for people to have sensitivity to some foods post sleeve. If it is nothing in particular after several months of tracking you may consider being checked for diverticulitis. My mom had that and her cramping was random and sporadic. It took many years to diagnose.
