Default 3week stalk and protein shakes...ugh

Hi fellow sleevers! I am now 17 days into my sleeve journey and am a glorious 30 lbs down! That progress is amazing! I love(d) stepping on the scale and seeing 1-2 pounds drop every morning. My acid reflux is completely under control. No more heartburn. That is such a huge relief.

I am in the purée phase of my journey so the bulk of my nutrition and protein still comes from shakes. And I have had ENOUGH. Anyone else tire of the protein shakes? I decided to try something new today and got some protein powder instead of the premix. I made a PB/Choc “shake” with pb2 powder, protein powder, silk, and sf pudding mix. The whole thing was a whopping 42g protein and only 6g sugar, and 200 calories. And was like a milkshake because I put some ice in it. I have never been so happy to drink my protein. Anyone else have any tips to get three purée phase? I am in it until Jan 16... so I need some options!

Also, anyone else hit a 3 week stall? I have been stuck at 30lbs loss for 5 days. I know it’s common and I am trying not to be discouraged. But if I am only consuming 500-700 calories a day- I better lose weight! Haha.

Even with my minor complaints here... I am back to feeling positive!

Congratulations on your progress to date, well done!

I was never one for protein shakes, just opting to purée meat (chicken) with sauce and eat like that. Yougert is also a fantastic source of protein and is worth considering as having around for snack time in the coming weeks and months.

It’s natural to stall, think about it like this - it’s not normal to get on the scales and loose 1-2 lbs a day but the mind becomes accustomed to seeing this, along with the positive vibes it gives off seeing such a drop. Your stall won’t last, the weight will continue to drop.

So happy you're doing better! The positive attitude will take you all the way!

As far as the stall, it happens to almost all of us. Frustrating, but short lived.

Haha yes. The three week stall that can happen anywhere from 2-5 weeks post op. Almost everyone experiences it. But it will pass. Just keep doing what you are doing. You are down 30 lbs in 17 days...your body needs to catch up. I am sure your body is still changing. Do not focus on it and just keep following the rules. Oh God yes the sweetness of the shakes made me ill in the beginning. I lived on creamed soups made with fairlife milk instead of water and big lattes made with fairlife milk, espresso, and Splenda. Once you can eat foods it will be better. Once you are eating solids you will fill up so fast so eat very slow and let your stomach and mind process it. When you eat too much or too quickly you will definitely regret it.
