    Default Nervous and Excited

    Hello All,
Scheduled for the sleeve in 2 days. I've read so much information and most contradict each other. How has everyone done post op? What should I expect. I know the things my doctor has told me but I'd like to hear from others that have gone through it. Thanks a bunch

Welcome Galaxie. I take most of what sleeve sites say with a grain of salt and go by what actual sleevers have said. I have several blogs on my page about my journey as do most sleevers on here. I can tell you that I am so glad I had my surgery. For me the key to success has been eating low carb in the beginning while I was losing, exercising, taking my vitamins, and weighing daily. Now that I am in maintenance and have been for about 10 months I eat more or less what I want but mostly eat healthy. There are no off limit items. Just moderation and when I eat something unhealthy I make up with more exercise or less calories the next day. I will suggest that you take progress pics and measurements now before surgery and then every two weeks post op. It will make a nice reminder of how your journey is going. Wear something form fitting. I did mine in bra and panties. Always take the new pics in the same and in the same place. When you do your measurements make sure you take them of your biceps, thighs, chest, hips, waist, and calves. These are also helpful when it seems the scale is not moving because usually your size is still going down.

What Christie said is how it is. Great advice. Just remember each person is different and don't expect the same results as someone else because it might get you down. Just know, once you begin and start to lose you will feel like a new person!!! Best of luck!!

It was, even with a couple of hiccups in my procedure, relatively painless, and the walking off the gas pain worked well. I was tired (but I'm 66) and gave myself permission to nap for a few days. By 10 days, most of us have felt pretty good. Not hungry...

Thanks so much. We are taking pictures and measurements tonight. I am so ready. Even on my week of clears I am feeling so much better. Just tired.

    Welcome.
My post op experience was very straight forward. 2 nights in hospital then home with no pain only a little discomfort (didn't take any pain relief once home). Follow your surgeons instructions, walk as much and as often as you can, and sip that water. Above all be kind to yourself - you have just had surgery!
You will be just fine :-)
