    Default Working out

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well! So I have a question for y'all. When working out do you guys go into a stall?? I find it's when I don't work out for 3 days is when I lose a couple pounds, weird right? And when I do work out I stay the same or gain a pound.

Same thing happens a lot to me and it never makes sense. People do say muscle weighs more than fat, not sure if that's true or not. Just keep working out and eating right and you'll do great!

I jog/fast walk on the elliptical or treadmill for half an hour to 45 mins, and half an hour with weights (different routine every day, some is weighted cardio, upper body, lower body, full body etc..)

I find working out makes me hungry and I break even, but I am toning up some loose stuff!

i asked for a couple reasons. have friends who say they walk 2 miles per day. but the 2 miles is such a leisurely pace that they don't get the heart rate up. i was told it has to be a rate of faster than 3mph (20 mile minute pace) to do any good. when alone, i try to hit a 16 minute mile pace, but i am also out much further than you from surgery.

i don't know much about the weights - and how much you're pushing yourself. having a bad back injury, my weight workout is much different from the average person - so i won't chime in there... but its a pace where my shirt sweat reflects such workout

Since I have started weight training the scale has stalled for me too. It’s been 3 days since I trained and I am down 2 pounds but like you once I go today I will stall/ go up a few pounds. My trainer says this is normal since muscle is denser and they are filling with water to heal and recover. I am hoping inches are coming off though.

    It’s frustrating for sure.

I decided my body may be getting used to the same routine so I'm trying something new. Had been walking 2-3 miles then doing weights/cross training w a trainer 2-3 days/week. That's what I was doing pre-op so I'm guessing my body thinks that's normal. So I started doing one of the Leslie Sansone walking DVD routines every day, partially bc the weather has been bad and partially bc in one hour I get in a 4 mile walk along with some upper body work (all in the privacy of my home). It's funny bc it's not as difficult as what my trainer does but I'm feeling it in different places and I find it easy to stick with doing it first thing in the morning. Don't know how this will affect my weight but I'm testing the theory that my body (and maybe yours?) gets used to the same routine so we need to shake it up sometimes and try something different. You can download the walks on YouTube if you want to give it a try.

IMHO, so much of this journey doesn't make "sense". It's just one big experiment in figuring out what works for you.

So I know that when I would stall it was always a sign that I needed to up my calories. I am thinking on days you are working out you are most likely not eating enough. That is my 2 cents.
