Pre-Op Liquid Diet

Yesterday was Day One of my pre-op liquid diet. I am counting my blessings that I only have to do it for a week. There are only so many different extracts I can use to mix with the "Swiss Chocolate" protein powder to make it more palatable. I need to drink 4 a day if mixed with Skim or Almond milk and 5 a day if mixed with water. I am opting for the 4 a day... I keep telling myself that it's mind over matter and a means to an end. I think the key for me is to stay busy. I find it amazing how much of society revolves around food! It's all over social media, cooking shows, commercials, segments on morning news programs... Happy National Muffin Day Everyone!!

P.S. I will take all the tips and advice I can get to get through this week

If I can do it so can you ....That was the most hardest things ever and I love food what worked for me was isolated the whole time
and keeping my self busy at all times you will get thru it .....

In NZ most of us have to do the "Optifast" diet prior to surgery. A mixture of shakes, bars and soups (the soups are yuck!). I had to do this for 3 weeks prior to surgery and it was the worst part of the whole process. I was very strict and kept to the programme but I was amazed at how much advertising there was for food - everywhere! I guess I was just more aware of it as my food intake was so restricted.
It was definitely worth the effort as my surgery went very smoothly and I was very lucky to have an event free recovery.
Being sleeved is the best decision I have ever made in my entire 55 years on this earth!
