Thank you so much for posting this! And congrats on your progress!

I'm pre-op, and one of my biggest concerns is not being able to gain muscle after VSG (I'm an athlete under all this fat ). I know that there's no physical reason why one can't gain muscle (and indeed, you are evidence to the contrary!), but I imagined it would be tough to do consuming 1000-1200 kcals/day. I see in your signature that you consume 2000+ - this is even more encouraging! Good news indeed.

Just eat your proteins and exercise. Especially important for the first six months post op. Eat your proteins first and get them in before having any veggies or anything else. Do some cardio but lift weights after your 1 month post op follow-up.
