I'm sleeved! Post Op Day 2

Hi! I made it!!!! That is goal #1 accomplished. Today is day 2 post op. My sips are getting bigger (slowly and still small) and I am walking. I hv some acid reflux going on, most of the nausea is gone, some stomach /overall torso tenderness and cramps that Tylenol helps to manage. I took 1 narcotic pain pill in the hospital and it set me back. Made me dry heave, not sleep good, more drugged feeling. So I hv stuck w Tylenol and been better for it. The acid reflux med is a must for me for now. I hope not forever. Right now all I'm consuming is water, broth. A little jello. But I don't miss anything right now. Still tired so I'm going to nap will chat/update more later w more energy. Overall things are going well. Praise God!
Thankful for this group and the support and encouragement. Man, that means a lot!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Welcome to the Losers corner. We're all in this together. Don't worry about the nausea when pumped with opiates - that's pretty common. I had them take me off the morphine drip on day 2 because it was making me wanna puke, and that's really not constructive when you're trying to get those few new ounces of water in. You're up and moving, which is wonderful! They've poked you full of holes, so take it easy, but keep up the movement, because it will help you heal faster. Also, GAS PAINS! WOO! Usually takes about 4 days to 1 week to go away for most people.

I am post op 5 days out and I am right there with you on the narcotics they made me feel horrible so glad to have all that out of my system. I still have some gas pains in my shoulders but otherwise a good amount of it left yesterday. I am making my self walk laps around the house as it helps a lot. Congrats on your progress! I am able to get through a protein shake a day now and two bottle of water.

Congrats on your sleeve!! It is going to get better. I slept off and on a lot that first week. Just take care of yourself and take it easy this week. Try a heating pad for the aches. It helped me a lot.

Congratulations!!! It sounds like you are doing better than I am... I'm a bit jealous!! Jk, Lol! I'm post op day 5 and just left Walmart because I was told that a maternity belly band will help a great deal with pain. Trust me, you may want to take note of this because it has made a world of difference for me walking and getting up and down out of chairs!!! I'm so proud that you skipping the narcotics, I bought some liquid Tylenol today and hope to just start using that instead of the narcotics I was prescribed.
