Default Non Carbonated Drinks and Sugar Free Popsicles

I am 1 week away from surgery. 1 WEEK!!!! I am doing the pre-op diet. I haven't been perfect especially with Labor Day. But, I am on it and doing it and time is passing. I feel like I should be doing things to get ready for surgery, because I know once surgery happens, prep time is over and I don't want to be trying to figure things out on the fly at that point.

I have noticed several of you have sugar free popsicles. Do you have a brand or flavor suggestion? How about non carbonated drinks? Do you only drink water?

Those are the questions on my mind now, but please feel free to offer any suggestions you have for me at this stage.

    Thank you!!!

Any of them are good for you. I personally liked the Popsicle SF Red. I tried the tropical flavors but they were way to sweet tasting after surgery. Now they have SF Bomb Pops but I would bet they are too sweet immediately post-op too. As far as drinks, for me water had a terrible metallic taste post-op. I still drink PowerAde Zero everyday. It has great flavor and does not taste salty like Gatorade. you can also buy fruit juice for the post-op 2-3 weeks but you will have to cut it with water to change the sweetness. Don't worry about the calories or sugar as the first week it will literally be the only calories you are getting until the protein shake phase.

Lastly, don't over buy. You will not use anywhere near what you think you will and when you get to four or five days post-op it will give you a reason to get out of the house and move-more.

My favorite sf popsicles were the generic brand at Marsh. Right after surgery I was all about the apple juice and ice water. We were in San Diego initially the first 3-4 days after I was released from the hospital in Mexico so we had to be creative. My favorite was when we got PHO and my husband ate the meat and I just drank the broth... SO GOOD.

I buy the popsicle brand as well. The first few weeks after surgery I did better with warm liquids. I like berry flavored green tea with Splenda.

I like Propel Zero, Protein2O, Vitamin Water. But like Christie said, right after surgery warm things went down easier than cold.

Publix brand on the popsicles if you have them in your area, and Powerade Zero fruit punch on the drink, at least those were my preferences.
