How long before the gas pains go away. Im sipping all day, taking gas x and sipping a protein shakes with skim milk. When will the gas stop?
Well, Where are your gas pains? Shoulders? back? Chest? stomach? Anywhere other than the stomach it's usually from the gas they use in the surgery . That goes away in 2-5 days. I'm surprised you are drinking protein shakes this soon after surgery but as long as your Doctor say's it's okay. If it's stomach gas then you may want to try just clean liquids and see if that makes the gas go away. Most Doctors call for clear liquid for a week post op.

Make sure your doing a lot of walking, taking frequent small walks around your house. This is only good way to get the gas out. By end of week two I was up to 5-7 miles a day. Started that for weightloss. Since walking is all you can do for 6-8weeks.
Each doctor is different. Your stomach maynot be ready for full liquid diet and purée food. Could be causeing your stomach discomfort. You may try Clear liquid diet for a day and see how you feel. I was on clear liq.for a week, week two add protein drink and full liq.'s, week 3 add cream soups than week 4 purée foods. It took a extra week before my stomach was ready. I didn't have problems with energy after day 4. First week your recovering from surgery and the anesthesia they gave you too. Your not meant to have instant energy. Only food for thought. I wish you the very best and hope you feel better soon.
Gas pains go away. Just keep walking and sipping. A heating pad helped me immensely. I never had any issues with milk but some people do. Try Fa!rlife. It is lactose free and has 13 grams of protein. Plus it tastes yummy and lasts longer than regular milk. I drink the nonfat one.
Congrats on your surgery! The gas got better for me after 3 days. WALKING helped work the gas out. I highly recommend it. Also, though you probably know, don't drink out of bottles or straws, you draw in too much air which creates more gas. Take GasX melt tabs, don't get the pills.
All the best on your journey and recovery!
Is your gas pain better now? I walked, walked, walked and then walked some more and it really helped my pain. Then I was exhausted for about a month. During the early stages you just have to listen to your body and go with what it wants. Hopefully you are feeling better today. I can tell you that every day is better and better. xo
