    Default Intro

    Hi all-
Just filled out my health form yesterday and am waiting to see if they need more information or if I am a candidate. Anxious but excited. I have dealt with being over weight for my whole life except for about 7 years. I am insecure and feeling like I like how I look, would help in some of this. Wish me luck.

Welcome Barb! Are you self pay or going through insurance? What is your BMI? Do you have any comorbidities?

BMI of 35 and a couple of co-morbidities should qualify you with insurance. Research before committing. To self pay. My mood has improved the more i get to exercise. Best of luck going forward.

    Money talks and BS walks...

In general, self-pay patients qualify with a BMI of 30 or greater regardless of any comorbid conditions or health issues. Most surgeons aren't going to turn away a cash payer who comes to the table with no delays due to insurance red tape.

You'd be the perfect type of patient for them.

I have my sleeve scheduled for Oct 19. Counting the days, both because I am excited to start my new life and because I am nervous about surgery and everything that follows.
