    Default Another Milestone!

I have now lost 82 pounds! In the 10.5 weeks since surgery I have lost 40 pounds. I lost 42 in the 3 months leading up to it, so I have dropped 'almost' equal amounts pre and post surgery. Such a GREAT feeling!

Now that I am back to the gym (I walked out doors as long as I could but this Vegas heat has come early), I have begun the machines for toning my flabby arms and thighs. It felt so good being able to sit comfortably at the leg press, leg curl machines without being uncomfortable physically-- and mentally.

    Height: 5'8"
    Highest Weight: 270 BMI 40.3
Day of Surgery Weight: 223 / Pre-Op nutrition diet: LOST 47 pounds
1 Month Weight: 202 (-21 lbs.) TOTAL LOST: 64 pounds
2 Month: Weight: 188 (-14 lbs.) TOTAL LOST: 78 pounds
    6 Month Weight: 169 (-2) BMI: 25.7 TOTAL LOST: 97 pounds

You are doing so good! I lost nothing in the months leading up to surgery then started to lose on the liquid diet. This inspires me to keep working out. I know its the only way to tone up those problem saggy areas. GREAT JOB!!

I can't believe how the weight is coming off either. If any of you can recall, right after my surgery I was freaking out because after my initial losing weight those first few days after surgery-- nothing came off for a week and half (?) and I was convinced that THAT was it! LOL! My advice: Don't listen to anyone who say's you 'won't lose this much' or 'it will take you this long a period of time to drop this amount.' Do what it is that works for you, but bump up the exercise and eating MORE proteins, with water, does wonders! The more nibbles of protein I can get in, and the more I MOVE my body instead of sitting still, the inches come off easier.

With that said, I am VERY mindful of eating very little-to-no- carbs right now, and avoid sugar. I don't eat snacks other than a small amount of almonds (5 or 6) and a mozzarella string cheese now and then. I still drink 1 premiere protein drink every morning (CHOCOLATE) and at times suck one down after the gym when I get home.

But having the surgery alone just isn't going to 'do it' on it's own. It's having to have retrained your brain about foods you need to eat to be a healthier YOU and getting into the habit of exercising, plain and simple. That's my routine and it's working.

Great job Lori!! And I do remember when you were in a stall and so worried and we all reassured you the scale would go down again. And you are rocking it!! I absolutely agree that we also need to train our mind and body to behave like a thin person. Oh you can lose weight...almost everyone does but to keep it off you have to retrain yourself.
