Congratulations!!!! That's Onederful!!!!
I just got home from my 1 month post op visit with the surgeon. he said I am doing very well, I can stop taking my acid reflux pill at 3 months because he said I won't need it (he repaired a very large hiatal hernia during surgery... and I never had GERD or acid reflux to begin with), and I can start back at the gym and use the machines and go back to my classes. I go back to see him in 3 months.

That's amazing!!! Congrats! Keep up the good work!
Yeah, way to go Lori.
What kind of got me at the appointment, was that it is evident I have LOST weight. The doctor said Good Job then asked if I eat 3 meals a day. I told him "Uh, yeah, the best I can" (all the while thinking if you count 1/4 - 1/2 cup of soup- if I'm lucky enough to get IN a half a cup- a MEAL, so be it). Then he asks me "Are you snacking in between meals?" WTH doctor? I can't get in enough SOUP, you think I am going to chow down on a brownie? I told him I have a Premier Protein shake, to which he said "Oh, good. No snack foods."
I mean, I am following his strict diet paperwork which doesn't even let me have soft foods for another TWO MONTHS, so why would I eat snacks? I can't get anything more than a cream soup in me. I am thinking maybe he's had patients in the past who go whole hog on junk this early in the game?

Holy crap! Soft foods in another two months? That seems so long. I am pretty sure we were having soft foods at week 4. One week all fluids, two weeks of protein shakes and then the fourth week soft foods and purees.
I goofed. No soft foods for another month (3 weeks). It was for me: week 1 clear liquids; week 2 full liquids; weeks 3-8 pureed foods; weeks8- 4 months Soft Diet, nothing crunchy. I've seen others on here having soft foods at one month and I wanted to cry. (Now the soft foods I'm talking about are tender meats, very soft, boiled or steamed vegetables.) I'm counting down until the 3rd week in May, let me tell you! (I just hope I can tolerate it eating it when that time comes.)
